Another phone mast going up near me
Another phone mast going up near me. I note from the O2 application that they are using a lot more documentation to convince the local council how safe their masts are. They have mention a report undertaken on behalf the City of Manchester by somebody called Professor S K Barton. Can anybody give me the low down on this person, eg phone operator links etc.
Thanks,
John E

The good Professor - plainly no conflicts of interest here - can't possibly have any preconceived notions which might make him question current industrial standards, interests and exploitation of wireless comms.
He is a prolific wireless research engineer, with no evident biophysics or health track record. He will know a bomb about the workings of the technology but will be an industry standard ' it's ICNIRP it's safe' adherent.

Since 2001 - 2005 Member of COST Action 273 - 'Towards Mobile Broadband Multimedia Networks' which is not the health relevant COST 281 Group.
Prof. S K Barton, Univ. of Manchester and Worldwide Universities Network
Professor of Mobile Systems Architecture, Dept of Computer Science
Head of - Wireless Communications
By combining the global expertise and resources of the WUN partners, the aim of the Group is to develop next generation technologies for wireless communications. Wireless Communications continues to be an exciting area of international research with rapid developments in the technology. All areas of society are becoming increasingly aware of the potential for wireless communications, with almost every individual possessing it in their homes. This is placing an increasingly high demand on industry and academia to develop the next-generation technology and is providing increasing opportunities for international collaboration between universities and industry.
(you bet!)
