Liberties Lost: "false bid for security has perversely put the nation at greater risk"
The Baltimore Sun chose the Fourth of July to publish an op-ed piece titled, "Liberties Lost," commemorating words from Thomas Jefferson's first presidential inaugural address in 1801 to highlight what the Sun calls the desperate need of the US to restore rights and freedoms that have been diminished in a post 9/11 "false bid for security that has perversely put the nation at greater risk."
