Mortgage Brokers Are in Congress's Sights
Hearings last year made it clear to Congress that mortgage brokers and nonbank lenders have taken advantage of lax oversight to make unsound loans to people with the weakest credit history, reports Kevin G. Hall of McClatchy Newspapers. As a result, Congress is seeking a way to federally regulate these brokers.
