Congress Should Not Endorse a Naval Blockade of Iran
New York Newsday joins the Seattle Post-Intelligencer in editorializing against HConRes 362, see below. Regarding the resolution’s language, “imposing stringent inspection requirements on all persons, vehicles, ships, planes, trains, and cargo entering or departing Iran,” Francis Boyle, Professor of International Law at the University of Illinois, writes, “I do not see how this could be done without a blockade given its comprehensive and unequivocal language.” Add your voice; encourage your friends to add theirs.
