Spy Chief Seeks More Eavesdropping Power
Pamela Hess for The Associated Press reports that National Intelligence Director Mike McConnell told Congress today that no American's telephones have been tapped without a court order since at least February, but that he could not say how many Americans' phone conversations have been overheard because of US wiretaps on foreign phone lines.
