Oil Exec Admits to Bribing GOP Lawmaker

Dan Joling of The Associated Press writes, "In the latest sign of corruption problems for Republicans, a corporate executive testified Friday that his employees worked for months to remodel the Alaska home of Sen. Ted Stevens. Stevens, the longest-serving Republican senator, is under scrutiny in a corruption investigation that also is targeting Alaska state officials."

Redefining "Victory"

Doyle McManus reports in The Los Angeles Times that since the US invaded Iraq more than four years ago, George W. Bush "most often has defined his objective there with a single, stirring word: 'Victory.' But "a large majority of the American public does not believe 'victory' is possible. Dozens of opinion polls have found that fewer than 40 percent of voters think the war can be won."

Stopping The Next War

By Patrick J. Buchanan

Speaking to the American Legion, Bush used rhetoric against Iran equal in bellicosity to anything he used on Iraq before invading. Iran "is the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism." Iran "funds terrorist groups like Hamas. ... Iran is sending arms to the Taliban." Iran's pursuit of nuclear technology threatens to put the Middle East and Gulf "under the shadow of a nuclear holocaust."

On the Internal War For Control of Iraq's Oil

Democracy Now! - Audio & Transcript

We speak with Michael Klare, author of "Blood and Oil: The Dangers and Consequences of America's Growing Dependency on Imported Petroleum." Klare says, "There's a second war underway in Iraq that's a war for the control of the oil wealth. That's a war that is pitting Kurds against the Arabs of the country, Shiites against Sunnis, and Shiite against Shiite. Because eventually the Americans are going to leave and the people of Iraq know this."

The General lies, we've heard it before: more troops will win the war

By Robert Scheer

OF COURSE, Gen. David Petraeus predicts success in the Iraq war. What wonders couldn't generals achieve with more troops and more time? The battle is always going well until it is lost, and then they blame defeat on the politicians and the public.

TELL CONGRESS WE WANT THE TRUTH ABOUT 9/11 AND NOTHING LESS

By the admission of the chairmen of the 9/11 commission itself, they did not get to the truth, and were deliberately impeded and deceived through their entire investigation.

We are not going to attempt in this alert to theorize about what the actual truth is. The one thing we know for sure is that the "official" story is a fairy tale, just like children's book Bush kept reading while he did NOTHING during the attack itself.

9/11 REINVESTIGATION ACTION PAGE: //www.usalone.com/reinvestigate_911.php

Now that the American people are waking up to the fact that they've been lied to about everything else in the last 6 years, is it any wonder that they are increasing skeptical about how it is that our air defenses just evaporated on 9/11, so as to ALLOW any terrorist plot to succeed on that day.

Don't you think it's time, AFTER the deaths of 3,000 Americans in New York City, and even more in Iraq, AFTER squandering a trillion dollars or more of our treasury on a phantom WMD and Al Qaeda chase in that country, don't you think it's time that the American people were finally told the truth?

NOW, years later, Thomas Kean and Lee Hamilton whine they were systematically lied to and denied the funds to do a proper job. Why did they not put up more of a fight about this at the time they were betraying the trust of the American people? Of course the 9/11 commissioners have only themselves to blame for failing so miserably in their duty. In the first place, instead of a silly charade, they SHOULD have demanded that Cheney and Bush testify separately and under OATH with a transcript.

But they did not, because the Cheney White House already knew Bush could not be trusted alone to compose a sentence in the English language not being fed to him by a teleprompter. He's so stupid he might accidently blurt out the truth. He's prone to blurting out his own stage directions as it is, like when he said his job was to "catapult the propaganda". You can be sure Karl Rove winced when he heard that one on the TV.

WHEN WILL YOU JOIN THE CHENEY IMPEACHMENT MOBILIZATION?

Suppose it came to light that the Vice President, or the President, had committed a unforgivable act of treason against the United States, and the American people all knew it, and the evidence was public knowledge and irrefutable, and let's say it was only a month before he was already set to leave office. Do you propose that Congress should do nothing? Or should the Congress immediately and with one voice rise up and impeach him, that there be a record so that future generations, and White House occupants, should know that the Constitution means something.

CHENEY IMPEACHMENT ACTION PAGE: //www.usalone.com/cheney_impeachment.php

How long does it take to have a vote in the House of Representatives or the Senate. What, like 15 minutes, max? On 9/11, how long did it take for Congress to speak with one voice? That's what is so absurd about the cowardly argument that there is not enough time left to impeach. Is the White House to be forever immune from impeachment during the last two years of an administration? Suppose a member of the House committed such acts. If two years were not enough time to do it, no member of the House could be impeached ever, and yet they are subject to the same Constitution.

We already know that Cheney lied about the justification for his Iraq invasion, and is still the one pushing hardest for an illegal strike on Iran, the grounds of impeachment in H.Res. 333, proposed by Dennis Kucinich. In the 16 months left in the Cheney dictatorship, there is plenty enough time to kill another thousand or more American service men and women in Iraq and maim thousands and thousands more. There is plenty enough time to squander hundreds of billions of dollars more to inflate the national debt. There is plenty enough time to continue to lie to the American people about absolutely everything. And there is plenty enough time to make the situation dramatically worse with a premeditated and unprovoked attack on Iran. And until that happens we have time to impeach.

But to make that happen, first we need YOU to speak out, as now already more than 100,000 of your fellow citizens already have. And it won't even take you anything remotely approaching 15 minutes. Just go to the Cheney Impeachment action page above, and click a mouse one time. If you are speaking out calling for the 9/11 reinvestigation it's just one more mouse click. Is saving our Constitution worth clicking a mouse one time? We always thought so.

WHY NOT ENCOURAGE DENNIS KUCINICH TO KEEP SPEAKING THE TRUTH?

Who else out there has had more courage to speak the truth, or more wisdom to question the insanity of our Iraq policy since day one. If you can, why don't you make a donation to Dennis to tell him you appreciate his stands on the issues.

KUCINICH DONATIONS: //www.usalone.com/donations_kucinich.php

Please take action NOW, so we can win all victories that are supposed to be ours, and forward this message to everyone else you know.
