A New York sheriff's deputy has defended his actions in tasering a woman in front of her two young children, and says that the decision to suspend him for thirty days came only after the story made national headlines earlier this month.

Tasing a disobedient 10-year-old must be a welcomed relief from dealing with real criminals — you know the violent adults who rape and rob and might be actually dangerous. Bradshaw claims the child, inresisting arrest, kicked him in the groin and, so, presumably was a threat to him. (Yet I note he got permission to tase the girl before he tried to haul her off to jail.) With greater PR savvy, the police chief stated that tasing the girl was for her own good to keep her ‘from hurting herself.’ Yep … being jolted with a blast electricity that has caused heart attacks in adults, being arrested and thrown into juvie detention while facing court charges are all in a young child’s best interests. If she didn’t have psychological problems before, she certainly will have them now. Of course, if the mother herself had tased the girl, she would be in jail on child endangerment or abuse charges … and properly so...
