Vodafone's second phone mast bid for Easington Lane rejected

Inspectors have rejected a second bid to build a mobile phone mast next to a neigbourhood pub.
Planners at Sunderland City Council rejected Vodafone's scheme to build the 3G mast next to the Three Tuns pub in High Street, Easington Lane, in January.
They said the 12metre-high column, which would have three antennae, would have a negative impact on the appearance of the area.
Hetton Town Council also objected to the mast because of the site's nearness to Easington Lane Primary School.
