Hot reception for Vodafone masts in Old Colwyn

RESIDENTS turned out to protest against two phone masts proposed in Old Colwyn.
Health fears have followed mobile phone giant Vodafone’s plans to put up a mast at Tan Llwyfan at Penmaenhead near the site of the old Hotel 70 Degrees. A second mast is proposed on Abergele Road opposite the Aldi supermarket.
Both masts are proposed to be put on footpaths and are in residential areas, prompting fears about the dangers of microwaves.
Residents made their stand this week after they received a letter from the communications company as part of a consultation process which must take place before any planning application is considered.
