American lust for oil fuels Afghan mission
The Bush administration misused the post-9/11 goodwill of its allies to obtain a safe route for the newly liberated oil reserves and install a puppet Afghan government composed of the same collection of warlords and drug runners who filled the vacuum left by the departing Russians.
