It was fitting that one of my scheduled days to feed homeless Veterans fell on December 7th. Little was said in the papers about Pearl Harbor but those gathered at Mills Park remembered. Veterans of many conflicts who courageously protected our freedom were trying to get out of the fierce wind and warm their insides with my usual Sunday crock-pot meal or a cup of soup that Commander Canyon of the American Legion High Desert Post 56 offered to the homeless Vets...
