The top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee said Thursday that he expects the investigation into the firings of federal prosecutors will lead to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales’ resignation. ‘I have a sense when we finish our investigation, we may have a conclusion to the tenure of the attorney general,’ said Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter. While Specter did not join the growing number of lawmakers from both parties calling for Gonzales to resign or be fired, he did call the Department of Justice ‘close to being dysfunctional’ …
