One Week Left to Plan for Fur Free Friday
Join IDA in Speaking Out for Animals on November 24th
This November 24th, in the peaceful spirit of the holiday season, thousands of activists around the U.S. will join together for a non-violent demonstration against the cruel fur industry. Fur Free Friday 2006 will officially mark the twentieth anniversary of this event that takes place every year on the day after Thanksgiving. Targeting stores that sell fur, animal rights activists gather to inform the public about the blood, suffering and death that goes into every fur garment.
IDA and local organizers are coordinating 17 Fur Free Friday activities in 13 states (as well as one in France), offering a comprehensive listing of events to participate in. We strongly urge you to use your voice to help animals this holiday season by taking part in this national day of action.
If you've never participated in a Fur Free Friday activity before, now's your chance! Speaking up on behalf of animals is not as hard as it seems. If you're nervous or hesitant, just remember that over 40 million animals a year are counting on your help. These innocent victims of the fur trade -- mink, fox, raccoon and other wild species -- are treated like mere lifeless commodities, raw materials to be exploited for profit. Each individual who raises her voice in these animals' defense can help stop the senseless slaughter.
