Impeachment By Spring: We're Off and Running!
It's been just one week since we announced ImpeachForChange in Philadelphia and the response has been tremendous!
Over 23,000 activists signed our petition - even though our overloaded server turned many away. We upgraded our server so please try again: http://www.democrats.com/peoplesemailnetwork/88 and help us reach our goal of 1 million by forwarding the petition to your friends!
Then print copies of our simplified impeachment petition http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/downloads/petition-4.pdf and collect signatures from friends, co-workers, and neighbors. Then keypunch the email addresses into our invitation letter to ask the signers to complete the full petition online. Full instructions here: http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/petition
31 Congressional District Impeachment Committees ... and Counting!
We also asked you to form Impeachment Committees in your Congressional District to persuade your Representative (who is supposed to represent you!) to support impeachment. And you responded in force! We now have committees forming in all of these districts:
CA30, CA38, CA52, DC00, FL10, FL18, FL19, HI01, HI02, IL03, IL11, MA08, MA10, MI10, MN04, MO08, NC04, NC06, NC11, NC13, NE03, NY07, NY08, NY15, OK05, PA18, RI01, RI02, SD00, TX18, VA08

Congressional District Impeachment Committees will:
1. Collect petitions on paper at busy locations (see above)
2. Write letters and op-eds to local papers
3. Meet directly with Representatives to persuade them to support impeachment
4. Organize Town Hall meetings (see below)

We also asked you to schedule Town Hall Meetings on Impeachment on December 10, and you responded again!

Many committees in the House and Senate can - without taking any energy away from ending the war - finally conduct the investigations that have gone undone for 6 years, exposing evidence that could very well lead to criminal, civil, or political accountability, as well as pressure to end the war and precedent to help prevent the next war.
