Proposition 89: Clean Elections or Power Grab?
A bill that could fundamentally change California elections may fall through the cracks. Under the current system in California, candidates for governor must be able to raise millions of dollars or use their own money to finance their campaigns. The "Clean Elections" system would allow candidates who can demonstrate significant grass-roots support to run using public money.
