Passage of the Thirteenth, Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution, the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the National voting Rights Act of 1993 collectively have strengthened the voting rights of African Americans, and other minority voters over the last century.
The process of pre-clearance found in section '5' of the Voting Rights Act beckons for continued attention and ultimate re-validation before 2007. Apparently, some elements in both Houses of Congress don't see the need to promote inclusion but would prefer voter supression. Reference Florida in 2000, and Ohio in 2004.
The skewed results of these recent elections were accomplished in large part by purging the participation of people anticipated to vote the "wrong" way. Even if we were to cure all other problems in counting AFTER the vote, this cannot fix the purging of our base before they even get to the polls. It is therefore critically important that we all speak out now to not only renew the Voting Rights Act, but to also strengthen it in light of recent and more sophisticated abuses.

But more than that, Charles Sanders is running as many radio spots in his home district as he can, calling on all his constituents to raise their own voices, and to submit his action page to do so. And he needs your help in this, the last week of his primary campaign, to reach out to as many people as possible in this way, to help build the consensus that impeachment is long overdue.
