Hartz IV: das "liberale Bürgergeld" der FDP - Problemlösung oder Wählertäuschung?

Die FDP will mit ihrem sogenannten "liberalen Bürgergeld" keinesfalls Hartz IV abschaffen, wie aktuell in den Mainstream-Medien gehirnwäscheartig dafür geworben wird. Sie will nur die Unterkunftskosten des SGB II auf einem nicht bedarfsdeckenden Niveau pauschalieren, indem sie den Regelsatz und die Unterkunftskosten zu einem Pauschalbetrag von 662€ für Alleinstehende zusammenfasst. Den aktuellen ALG II Regelsatz von 359€ zugrunde gelegt, verbleiben vom "liberalen Bürgergeld" gerade mal 303€ für die gesamten Unterkunftskosten.

„Das Bündnis für ein Sanktionsmoratorium setzt sich für eine schnellstmögliche Aussetzung von Paragraf § 31 SGB II ein, der Hartz-IV-Empfänger mit erheblichen Sanktionen belegt. Erneut zeigt sich, wie dringend die Realisierung eines Sanktionsmoratoriums ist. Obwohl die Bundesagentur für Arbeit im Dezember 2008 Hinweise zur Handhabung des § 31 SGB II herausgegeben hat, denen zu Folge bei Weigerung, eine Eingliederungsvereinbarung abzuschließen, keine Sanktion mehr ausgesprochen werden soll, ist genau das von Januar bis Mai in mindestens
1.619 Fällen geschehen. Damit 180 Euro als Mehraufwandsentschädigung in den Taschen der „Ein-Euro-Jobber“ landen, müssen noch einmal 320 Euro aufgewendet werden, um die „gemeinnützigen“ Träger zu bezahlen – für Dozent, Material, Verwaltung. Schon jetzt werden allein die Kosten der „Integrationsleistungen“ die gigantische Summe von 6,6 Milliarden Euro erreichen. Zum Vergleich: Für Bildung und Forschung, die doch die Zukunft des „Standorts Deutschlands“ sichern sollen, warten im Bundesetat gerade einmal 10,2 Milliarden Euro. Lange schon zeichnet sich deshalb eine Flucht aus Workfare ab. (…) Warum kostenträchtige Leute mobilisieren, wenn sie danach noch mehr kosten? Die Zukunft sieht nicht viel heller aus. Wo Workfare war, wird Aufbewahrung sein! Es sind einfach zu viele auf dieser Welt, die nicht mehr „gebraucht“ werden. Künftig soll eine Mischung aus betäubender Unterhaltung und ausreichender Ernährung genügen, – vielleicht noch angereichert mit etwas „Sinnstiftung“ bei Bedarf, etwa im Rahmen von Freiwilligenarbeit im Sportverein oder in der Nachbarschaft. Dann gibt es womöglich ein bisschen Taschengeld. Kurzum: Billige Brot-und-Spiele statt teurer Eingliederung. Das Bürgergeld-Konzept der FDP liest sich bereits wie die Umsetzung dieser Vision…“

Kaum war ihm zu Ohren gekommen, dass sich der 51-jährige Familienvater Jean-Paul Rouanet von einer Autobahnbrücke in den Tod gestürzt hatte, flog der Spitzenmanager Anfang der Woche nach Annecy in die französischen Alpen und suchte die Filiale auf, in der Rouanet gearbeitet hatte. Ein Callcenter ist es, in dem die Angestellten nach Gewerkschaftsangaben «unrealistische Zielvorgaben» zu erfüllen haben, die ihnen von der Konzernspitze diktiert werden, und wo laut Rouanets Abschiedsbrief «ein schlechtes Betriebsklima» herrscht. (…) Den Gewerkschaften ist das zu wenig. Sie verlangen, dass bis zum Verhandlungsabschluss über den Stressabbau kein Beschäftigter mehr gegen seinen Willen versetzt werden dürfe. Zum Zeichen ihrer Entschlossenheit haben sie für kommenden Dienstag zu Streik und Protest aufgerufen. Gemeinsam mit der sozialistischen Opposition fordern sie Lombards Rücktritt. He wants an Afghanistan that can no longer serve as a base for any terrorist group that would be able to attack the United States. Assuming that the President of the United States is true to his word, he should perhaps consider the possibility that the minimum objective for an American withdrawal from Afghanistan has already been achieved. If that is so, it is time for the United States to end its de facto occupation of the country and leave the Afghan people to settle on a form of government that will satisfy their needs, not those of a segment of the international community led by Washington...

I like to believe that, despite studying Guantanamo for four years, I still have a sense of humor, but last Thursday I lost it, after 258 members of the House of Representatives (including 88 members of President Obama’s own party) voted for an idiotic, paranoid, and unjust motion proposed by Rep. Hal Rogers (R-Ken.), which was designed to ‘prohibit the transfer of GITMO prisoners, period’ (those were his exact words). Just 163 Representatives voted against the motion, which, as JURIST described it, also supports ‘adding Guantanamo detainees to the federal ‘no fly’ list, and adopting Senate language forbidding the release of photos showing detainee abuse’...

Concentrating the minds of all on Sunday was news that 10 U.S. soldiers were killed, two by an Afghan solider, eight when their remote outpost near Pakistan was attacked by hundreds of Taliban. As Obama approaches the pivotal decision of his presidency, here is where the major players seem to be lining up. McChrystal believes so strongly in the need for 40,000 troops he could resign his command if denied them. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Adm. Michael Mullen seems to be in the McChrystal camp. Gen. David Petraeus, regional commander for Afghanistan and Iraq, has yet to commit himself. But as architect of the surge in Iraq, he would seem to support McChrystal. What Petraeus will do, if the McChrystal request is denied, is the big question in Washington. For Petraeus reportedly sees himself as a presidential candidate...

The Democrats want to change the name of the PATRIOT Act to the JUSTICE Act. That’s the easy part — exchanging one Orwellian branding for another — much like earlier this year, when the new Obama administration insisted the government wasn’t waging a Global War on Terrorism, but an ‘Overseas Contingency Operation.’ Save for the name, there hasn’t been one major transformation in the way the federal government is executing the Long War (the recent helicopter gunship execution of a suspected al-Qaeda terrorist in Somalia in September was completely in step with the old GWOT). And seeing how key Democrats are slowly caving on some of the most promising reforms to the PATRIOT Act in three years, it’s becoming clear the JUSTICE Act won’t be much of a metamorphosis, either...

Goldman to be paid $1bn if CIT fails

The payment stems from the structure of a $3bn rescue finance package that Goldman extended to CIT on June 6 2008, about five months before the Treasury bought $2.3bn in CIT preferred shares to prop it up at the height of the crisis.
