Objections raised to extension of Green Belt mobile phone mast in Great Budworth
Jun 10 2009 by David Norbury, Mid Cheshire Chronicle
PARISH councillors, conservationists and neighbours are objecting to a scheme to heighten a T-Mobile phone mast on Green Belt land next to Belmont Hall, Great Budworth.
The operator is seeking approval to add a 5m extension to its 15m tower and to replace the six 2G antennae with three 2G and three 3G.
The Parish Council objects and says it has ‘grave concerns’ about the visual effects above the tree canopy.
The village Amenity Society agrees it would be intrusive, while neighbours at Garden Cottage, 75m from the installation, have raised health and safety issues with the proposal.
They say they are ‘seriously concerned’ about the increased health risks and point out that Cransley School is within 400m.
