Why do we need another mast?

Campaigners against a controversial mobile phone mast today asked why it was needed when there were already several masts in the immediate area.
The Evening News last week called on bosses at telecommunications giant O2 to scrap plans to build a mast on Reepham Road, Hellesdon, where it only won planning consent due to a planning blunder by Broadland District Council.
And today it has emerged that there are already eight masts in the Hellesdon area, all within less than a mile of the proposed site being considered by O2.
