More phone masts added at controversial Flintshire site

A BUILDING which already houses several phone masts can become home
to three more, a Flintshire planning committee has decided.
Mobile giants O2 applied to install three 3G antennas on top of the Mold telephone exchange, on Chester Street, Mold, in an effort to increase coverage in the area.
The building, which is already home to five antennas and two dishes, from an array of mobile telephone companies, has been the cause of heated debate among concerned local councillors for years.
Cllr Chris Bithell said: "The building is a blight on Chester Street and a blight on the area. It was marked as suitable site for redevelopment in the town centre health check. It should be demolished.
