At last Congress stands up to Bush

Four long years of misguided intransigence and finally, the war of choice in Iraq can take a more controlled, predictable course. Thank you Congress for finally, rightfully, taking a stand and exercising your constitutional duties and calling for accountability and limits to be placed on this war. (This excludes Reps. Lincoln Davis, David Davis, Marsha Blackburn and Zack Wamp, and Sens. Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander, who voted against this.) Don’t give me nonsensical talking points about micromanaging the war. In The Federalist No. 58, drafted by our Constitution’s framers, Alexander Hamilton and James Madison: The House of Representatives … in a word, hold the purse. This power over the purse may, in fact, be regarded as the most complete and effectual weapon with which any constitution can arm the immediate representatives of the people, for obtaining a redress of every grievance, and for carrying into effect every just and salutary measure...
