Cook up a storm at the European Commission!
7 February 2006
My name is Geert, I'm a campaigner working to stop genetic engineered foods entering our foodchain. We've had some great victories over the past few years thanks to all the support from you, the Greenpeace activists and friends across the world. Just recently, Switzerland rejected the planting of GE crops for another 5 years in a national referendum, another loss for companies wishing to contaminate our food supply and the environment.

In Europe the food industry was forced to take GE products off the shelves following massive consumer rejection and a law that means food companies must label food containing GE ingredients.
But the fight isn't over yet.
Products derived from animals fed on GE feed such as eggs, milk and meat - are excluded from the labelling law.
So consumers don't know if their eggs, milk and meat come from animals fed with genetically engineered feed. This erodes our right to choose what we eat. That's why we are campaigning to close this loophole in the labelling laws and give consumers the complete freedom of choice about the food they eat.
Our aim is to show that there is massive support for GE free food by sending a one million strong petition to the European Commission and demand they close the loophole.
This will ensure we have the choice about GE food and will mean all food products containing GE will be labelled.
Please sign the online petition here. Only with your help we can make a difference.
