Subject: The Curry mobile phone mast Bill - petition
Please sign the enclosed important petition and write to your MP and ask them to support the Curry Bill on 3rd Match.
Forward this e-mail to all your friends, family and colleagues and try to get as many people as possible to add their name calling for tougher planning regulations for phone masts. It only takes a few minutes to add your name, this is a chance to send a message to the British Government.
See enclosed e-mail.
Best wishes
Eileen
Dear SCRAM
We have been admirers of your campaign and of Eileen in particular. We have been fighting a local campaign with some success, for the last five years, but recognize that it is only a change in the law that will prevent situations like ours arising. We have over 20 transmitters beaming within a 200 metre radius of almost 1000 nursery, infant and primary aged children and only 65 metres from my daughters' playground. Our Ofcom reading (2/2004) showed an emission level of 1/772 and we await their return imminently.
With a view to doing what we can to help the forthcoming Curry Telecoms Bill at its second reading - now on the 3rd March, we have started an on-line petition which is also convincing MPs to attend the House on that day and vote in favour of the bill. We are Schools and Hospitals Against Mast Emissions (SHAME)
We would be delighted if you would sign the petition and indeed, pass it on to any other campaign groups you know. The more signatures and the more constituencies involved, the better the chances of increasing the profile of this very important piece of proposed legislation. Also, if you know that your own MP has made a commitment to attend, you could make sure that Chris Maile at Planning Sanity is aware - he is compiling a master list of MPs.
Esther Rantzen and Vincent Cable MP support a change in the planning law.
Please visit http://www.shame.org.uk for further information and the on-line petition.
I look forward to hearing from you if you can help or even if you can't.
Kindest regards
Gemma Davies
