Orange meet council to discuss mast

DISCUSSIONS have taken place to find an alternative site for the proposed Orange phone mast near Foxes Piece School, Marlow.

Residents were outraged after a council blunder gave planning permission for a 40ft mobile phone mast next to the primary school.

As revealed by the Bucks Free Press, communications giant Orange gained the rights to build an antenna at a site in Little Marlow Road, Marlow, close to Foxes Piece School, after Wycombe District Council failed to make its objection explicit in the 56 day period.

WALTHAMSTOW: Health fears over proposed phone mast

PLANS to erect a mobile phone mast in a residential street have sparked fears over potential health risks.

The mast, proposed to be sited at a house in Jewel Road, Walthamstow, would provide mobile phone coverage for the borough of Newham from start-up company UK01.

Residents now fear that if the planning application is approved, they could be at risk of serious health problems such as cancer.

At-home-mother Suzie McKenzie-Young, 43, who lives in Jewel Road, said: “It’s a very highly populated road and a thoroughfare down to Lloyd Park and they’re planning to put up a 10-metre mast.

„Das Bündnis gegen Kinderarmut durch Hartz IV hat Mitte Juni 2008 allen Bundestagsabgeordneten aus CDU, CSU, SPD, FDP und Grünen die Frage gestellt, warum sie Kindern ab dem Schulalter mit der Verabschiedung von Hartz IV den Wachstumsbedarf aberkannt haben. Denn 2005 wurde der Regelsatz von 7 bis 13-Jährigen auf das Niveau von Säuglingen gesenkt und der von Jugendlichen im Alter von 14 bis 17 Jahren auf das Niveau von erwachsenen Haushaltsangehörigen. Immerhin geht es um etwa 1,5 Millionen Kinder. Phone firm in mast bid

A mobile phone firm is launching another bid to put up a mast in Kidderminster despite previous plans being thrown out by a government planning inspector.

A bid was first put forward by Vodafone for the mast in Wolverley Road in 2004. Campaigners celebrated after it was thrown out for good in 2005 after a Planning Inspectorate ruled in their favour.

Petitions against mobile phones in Sefton could become a thing of the past

PETITIONS against phone masts could soon be a thing of the past if a ban on installations on council land is lifted.

Senior Sefton councillors in the authority’s Cabinet have asked parish councils and area committees for views ahead of a decision to lift a moratorium that prohibits mobile telecommunications on its land and buildings.

Kinderschutz im Netz und anderswo

Während der Kinder- und Jugendschutz im Netz Topthema beim "Safer Internet"-Programm bleibt (und mit etlichen Millionen Euro zu Buche schlägt) ist der Schutz der Kinder und Jugendlichen im realen Leben der Politik immer weniger wert.
