Americans getting rich off Iraq

Most people have long been aware of the money being made by contractors in Iraq such as Kellogg Brown & Root's Halliburton, Dick Cheney's old company. Not only has there been over-billing and more than eight million dollars that is simply unaccounted for, but those dollars just keep rolling in to Halliburton and others anyway. It is wonderful when a company does not have to submit a competitive bid in order to be awarded a very lucrative, non-competitive contract. But those companies are not the real reason our young men are dying every day in god-forsaken Iraq. And we all know it certainly wasn't the Weapons of Mass Destruction either -- that was a lie. In fact, the real and only reason the U.S. is in Iraq is to divide up the massive oil reserves... [editor's note: Actually, it is Halliburton which owns KB&R, not the other way around - TLK]
