"KiKK" study of childhood leukaemia near nuclear power stations
The Guardian has printed a further letter showing up the folly of its earlier reporting on radiation risk. Ian Fairlie's commentary, in which he refers to the recent German "KiKK" study of childhood leukaemia near nuclear power stations, is at http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2010/jan/20/evidence-nuclear-risks-not-overrated.
The one thing still missing is a statement of the scale of the error in ICRP's risk estimates implicit in the KiKK result. LLRC has posted a comment on http://www.llrc.org ( http://www.llrc.org/fairlie200110.htm ) giving the error implied in KiKK, as computed by the German state radiation protection commission, SSK.
