Hi Eleanor,
Thanks for your concern for shark tournaments. We think letters, calls and emails are more effective than petitions, which we usually avoid. For contact information for the Chamber of Commerce and the Oaks Bluff town selectmen, see our web story at http://www.hsus.org/wildlife/wildlife_news/oak_bluffs_shark_hunt_4-06.html and our web alert at
https://community.hsus.org/campaign/oak_bluffs_shark_contest_06
You can also contact the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, the state agency that allows the shark tournaments at: Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife

Thanks again for your support. Check back to http://www.protectsharks.org soon for updates. We'll be putting up a lot more info on tournaments and how you can help quite soon.
Cheers,

We just came out with a video we'll be putting on the web and promoting so that people know what really happens at these events. Here is the link (this was filmed at the tournament in Ocean City, Maryland): http://stream.realimpact.net/?file=realimpact/hsus/video_features/shark-tournament.wmv&type=wmv
I watched some but it got too much for me. Please do all you can to stop this butchery. Please help the HSUS in their efforts. My thanks and appreciation!

If you haven't already done it, please take action for the sharks of Martha's Vineyard. Try to stop this happening to them.
