Just to put perspective on the size of this science/truth issue, Exxon/Mobil has ploughed millions of dollars into setting up some 40 "scientific" organisations to refute or confuse the human contribution to climate change issue, and be ready "independent" commentators to the media. During the tenure of the latest Chairman, ExxonMobil has contributed some 60bn tonnes of CO2 to our atmosphere.
You might also reflect on the current moves by the Royal Society to squash science that might create awkwardness and worry people. Let's hope their attempt to have Andrew Wakefield struck off over MMR backfires.
