Since the War on Terror began, American forces have detained hundreds of ‘enemy combatants’ at numerous detention centers, including Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay. The treatment of detainees at those facilities has resulted in serious rights abuses that violate the Geneva Conventions. This petition calls upon President Bush and Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, to put an immediate stop to the torture of 'enemy combatants', and to abide by the Geneva Accords and the standards of international law regarding treatment of prisoners obtained in armed conflict.
