Electric Blankets cause Womb Cancer

Yesterday's Daily Telegraph

Woman who regularly use electric blankets to keep warm at night could be more at risk of cancer of the womb, according to a new study. Those asked if they had ever used an electric blanket were 15 per cent more likely to develop womb cancer than those who had never used them. But among women who regularly used the devices for 20 years or more , the risks increased by 36 per cent. Scientists believe the blankets may expose women to llow levels of electromagnetic radiation. The findings add to the controversy over whether electromagnetic fields in the home are dangerous. Scientists at Wayne State University in Michigan, US, came up with the latest findings after analysing data on more than 90,000 women taking part in a major health research project. Ther results, published in the European Journal of Cancer Prevention showed that around 1500 of them had developed a turour of the womb, known as endometrial cancer.

I believe this study (Lubeck 2005) re oscillating current during sleep improving memory will help support EMF/EMR concerns regarding "disappearing bees."

I am not familiar with the Helsinki Declaration but can't help wonder how much of what was done regarding "human studies" -- "EMF RAPID Studies" -- that may be in violation of the Declaration!!! It makes me sick to my stomach when I recall the "intimidating individual" that came around with her black briefcase, making it clear to us that we needed to participate in her very involved series of questions (during time of EMF RAPID Studies).

This "unpleasant encounter" (think she came back more than once) never involved sharing any information to the effect there was any reason whatsoever to consider possible adverse health effects regarding our house being only 50 ft. from two high voltage lines. I do remember reporting a long list of symptoms (this occurred before I had any knowledge of benefits re taking vitamins and supplements and especially "melatonin) and I do know there is specific reference to homes within 50 ft. of high voltage lines in the EMF RAPID Conclusions.

I do not recall any questions being asked about any sort of electrical or telephone equipment being close to our beds. The fact that the American Cancer Society sent the "USA Today article" (1993) recommending appliances be moved away from beds, indicates the whole EMF RAPID Study may have "completely missed-the-boat" and that the omission of such relevant questions may have been intentional.

Had these issues been properly addressed and the public "informed," perhaps even the bees would still be able to find their way home? Take care - Joanne

Auch wenn Insidern die Veranstaltung nicht immer Neues bringt, stärkt doch solidarische Teilnahme die Bewegung. Immerhin konnten hier ein staatliches Gesundheitsamt und ein Landrat zu einer Vorsorge-Informationsveranstaltung gewonnen werden und dies auf hohem Niveau!

Bürger von mindestens fünf Landkreisen werden hier an zentralem Ort sachlich unabhängig und kritisch informiert. Berufsgruppen, wie Handwerker, Ärzte und Lehrer werden gezielt eingeladen.

Ein erfolgreicher Verlauf mit breiter Publikumswirkung muss die Kreispolitiker in ihrer Entscheidung zu dieser vorbildlichen Veranstaltung bestätigen, die Bürger mit Nachdruck auf die Inhalte hinweisen und den Bestrebungen zu einer ernsthaften Gesundheitsvorsorge bei Elektrosmog weiterhelfen auf dem Weg zu einer Technik in Verantwortung und Achtung vor dem Leben.

This is a potentially devastating phenomenon for agriculture (food) and biodiversity, and whilst presented as new, goes back some years, and is in many other countries.

It's interesting that the interpretation of the bees left in the hive being so diseased is immuno-suppression.

Recent studies have shown that a portion of odor memory is consolidated in the antennal lobes (AL), where first-order synaptic processing of sensory information takes place. The AL and/or the sensory afferents that project into them show staining patterns for the enzyme nitric oxide synthase, which catalyzes the release of the gaseous transmitter nitric oxide (NO). The results show that pharmacological blockade of NO release impairs olfactory discrimination only when release is blocked before conditioning. Blockade of GABAergic transmission disrupts discrimination of similar but not dissimilar odorants, and does so when the block occurs before condition or before testing. Mysterious, Massive Die off of Bees in the U.S.

Albert Einstein made the statement "If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would only have four years left to live." He was speaking in regard to the symbiotic relationship of all life on the planet. All part of a huge interconnected ecosystem, each element playing a role dependant on many other elements all working in concert creating the symphony of life. Should any part of the global body suffer, so does the whole body.

Many people would be surprised to know that 90% of the feral (wild) bee population in the United States has died out. Recent studies in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands have shown that bee diversity is down 80 percent in the sites researched, and that "bee species are declining or have become extinct in Britain."

The question that begs to be asked is "Is there a connection between the rise in electrosmog and the weakening of the bee's immune system - and can this also be related to the 80 or more human immune system disorders that have increased exponentially with the increase in background electromagnetic radiation levels?"

The fact of the matter is that it was not common for people to have herpes simplex - or other herpes-family related illnesses - back in the 70s. However, a number of herpes family viruses are now being found to proliferate in people with conditions like autism, CFS, and Alzheimer's - and members of the herpes-family viruses have infected carp in Japan, lobster off the coast of Florida, and sardines off the coast of Australia.

Depending on one's level of thinking, one can conclude that it is either the virus or rather a weakening of the immune system that is the cause of these problems.

Research has actually shown that exposure to certain electromagnetic fields (EMF) - besides weakening our immune systems - will stimulate the genome of the Epstein-barr virus, a virus in the herpes family that triggers what is called "mono" in the US and "glandular fever" in other parts of the world (the UK, Australia, and NZ).

Can we also assume that these EMFs are stimulating the genome of the other viruses in the herpes family (e.g CMV, HH6V, and so on)? It is a logical assumption - for anyone with half a brain - to assume so, I would think. Of course, further research needs to be done - and not the research funded by the cell phone industry - which almost always with lots of fanfare tells us how safe this technology is. Unfortunately, the people doing this kind of research often have their fundings cut - as was the case with twice nominated for the Nobel Prize, Robert O. Becker due to pressure from the DoD because he was trying to warn us about the dangers of this technology way back in the 1970s.

The above site lists EMF’s (electromagnetic fields) as TOXIC.

Certainly sitting or standing very close to a TV for extended periods of time would not be good.

However, the issues surrounding reduction of Melatonin and restoration of circadian rhythm, etc. — adverse effects of improper sleep all related to sleeping close to electrical items at night is “a major concern!!”

Electric and gas meters, ANY electric clock, monitors, fans, touchlamps, lamps with dimmer switches, power supply boxes for games and cordless phones, and much more including but not limited to improper wiring or waterpipes carrying currents over or under beds are all potentially deadly depending upon proximity and amount of chronic prolonged exposure.

Night after night of improper sleep/lack of sleep contributes to every health problem from poor sleep to cancer.

I am a non-accredited EMF/EMR researcher with over 15 years’ experience as a victim myself (high voltage powerlines only 50 ft. from front of our house), grandmother of two boys diagnosed w/rare immune deficiencies AND research in my own home exposing guinea pigs to our back bedroom wall — exactly where our children slept while growing up and our grandchildren after that (daycare).

Bottom line: when “close sleeping exposures” were reduced, lab results confirmed improvement that was also being observed and documented.

Similar circumstances re guinea pig exposures, however, one out of each set of two guinea pigs tragically died within 30 days’ exposure.

The guinea pigs’ tests revealed a “collapse of immune function” — severe neutropenia and lymphocytosis!!!

I moved my husband’s electric clock radio. He had been diagnosed w/Alzheimers about two years ago.

My husband is now said not to have Alzheimers!! He is, however, still suffering moderate to severe memory and cognitivie impairment.

I believe the electric clock radio increased damage I did not know was occurring due to taking statins.

While this part of my commentary may not seem to pertain to concerns re autism, additional research I have done re certain vitamins and supplements indicate persons need to be very aware that, under circumstances of chronic EMF/EMR exposure — particularly when one’s body is trying to restore circadian rhythm/function of hormones, etc., even Vitamin C can become a free radical.

My concerns relate both to things consumed during the prenatal period but also anything prescribed for newborn, toddlers, or children or persons of any age regarding a combination of exposures that have the potential to wreak havoc on particularly the central nervous system.

While this website is important and interesting, I do not think the EMF issue is being given the serious attention needed in order to help the persons the government is trying to keep “uninformed.”

I am also concerned when a specific request is made to contact Dr. Perlmutter directly and the only response is “waiting for your comment on the blog!!!”
