Take action against slavery past and present!
2007, which marks the 200th anniversary of Britain's abolition of the Transatlantic Slave Trade, is now only weeks away. Please visit http://www.antislavery.org/2007 and sign the Declaration if you have not yet done so; send e-cards to your friends and family; and find other ways to take action against slavery past and present.
We will be in touch early in the new year with exciting news of a range of events and activities that are taking place to mark the bicentenary. You can also find details of many of these here http://www.antislavery.org/2007/eventstimetable.htm .
Reporter in brief
Please follow this link http://www.antislavery.org/archive/reporter/reporteroct2006.htm to read about the latest news about slavery worldwide. This month we have news of India's ban on child domestic work, slavery in Latin America, and a recent Anti-Slavery International visit to Mauritania to discover more about slavery there. These web pages contain news, stories and features from the October 2006 edition of our quarterly magazine, the Reporter.
Thanks for your support in the campaign against slavery.
