Health fear over phone-mast bid

A MOBILE phone mast planned for woodland on the outskirts of Sheffield has provoked fury - with 160 people signing a petition and protesters voicing fears for health.
Vodafone has applied to Sheffield Council for permission to erect the 12 metre tower, which would be 14.4 metres high with three antennae attached.
If approved, it would be built within trees, behind houses off Bowman Drive, Charnock Hall, above the Moss Valley conservation area. Signatures on the protest petition were collected by Kevin Pryor, of Bowman Drive, Moss Valley Wildlife Group, who said he opposed the idea of such a development on green space and recreational land.
Three letters of objection have also been made, including one from Moss Valley Wildlife Group.
