The hidden dangers of mast radiation
I cannot see the point of Chris Shepherd's contention that people who smoke, drink or drive are not entitled to express anxieties about phone mast radiation.
Having worked for years with children as a psychotherapist, I became aware of many of the hazards that our modern lifestyle presents to them, including such things as food additives, passive smoking, sleep deprivation, chemical pollution etc, as well as cell phone and mast radiation.
To ignore these dangers, particularly when many of them could be prevented relatively easily, would be irresponsible. That is why the charity SHOC came into being - to raise public awareness. It would be nonsense for anybody to ignore them, simply because they drove a car or drank alcohol.
I am concerned for children who are subjected to risks without even knowing they exist. Maybe there are no known deaths attributed to mobile phone masts. That could be because the long-term effects have yet to be recognised, but certainly there are numerous reports of cancer clusters occurring around masts. Mast radiation has also been shown to cause headaches, dizziness, depression, fatigue, poor concentration and cardiovascular problems.
