The hiss of gas is heard and they start to convulse, drool, and bleed from their mouths as they fight for their lives, having no idea what has happened. Some of them do not succumb on the first try. They gasp clean air for a moment, only to be pushed back in and tortured again. This is not a quick death. It is slow, barbaric, and cruel.

' Thirteen states have banned the use of these inhumane death chambers, We are imploring your state to ban the use of carbon monoxide death boxes, and instead impose the much more humane and civilized method of lethal injection with sodium pentobarbital.

Spain and EU Commission threatening to sink bottom trawling moratorium - Spanien und die EU Komission drohen am Moratorium über Grundschleppnetzfischerei zu scheitern
Most EU governments as well as countries outside of Europe - like the USA, Australia and Brazil - want a moratorium on the very destructive practice of high seas bottom trawling, but Spain is stalling.
Hmm, maybe that is because Spain has the largest bottom trawling fleet in Europe. A fleet of 55 vessels that now seems to hold the EU as hostage in ocean protection.
High seas bottom trawlers tear up an area of seabed more then 30 times the size of Spain each year.
Tell the EU Fisheries Commissioner and the Spanish ministers to stop lagging behind, and support a moratorium on high seas bottom trawling at the UN this year.

Vielleicht liegt es daran, dass Spanien die größte Grundschleppnetzfischflotte von Europa besitzt. Eine Flotte von 55 Schiffen, die wie es nun scheint, die der EU den "schwarzen Peter" für den Meeresschutz zuschiebt.
Grundschleppnetzfischer vernichten ein Gebiet auf dem Meeresboden das dreißig mal größer als Spanien ist - und das jedes Jahr.
Rufen Sie den EU Kommissionsbeauftragten für Fischereiwesen und die spanischen Minister dazu auf, ihre Einstellung aufzugeben und ein Moratorium über Grundschleppnetzfischerei auf der Hohen See in der UN dieses Jahr zu unterstützen.

If fishing around the world continues at its present pace, more and more species will vanish, marine ecosystems will unravel, and there will be "global collapse" of all species currently fished, possibly as soon as midcentury, fisheries experts and ecologists are predicting.
