Damit disqualifiziert sich Dreier als Verfassungsrichter. Fordern Sie von Union und SPD, auf die Berufung Dreiers zu verzichten. Das Bundesverfassungsgericht muss auch in Zukunft das Folterverbot zweifelsfrei vertreten!

Ex-Verfassungsrichter Benda kritisiert Streit um Dreier und beteiligt sich daran

Der ehemalige Präsident des Bundesverfassungsgerichts, Ernst Benda, kritisierte den politischen Streit um die Besetzung des Vizepräsidentenamts am höchsten deutschen Gericht, beteiligte sich aber selbst an dem Streit. "Das Geschacher der Parteien ist schädlich", sagte Benda der Düsseldorfer "Rheinischen Post" zu der Auseinandersetzung um den von der SPD benannten Richterkandidaten Horst Dreier. "So ein Gezank hat es um den Richterposten noch nie gegeben", sagte Benda. Bisher seien die Diskussionen zwischen den Parteien stets vertraulich verlaufen. Allerdings repräsentiere Dreier in fundamentalen Fragen nicht den gesellschaftlichen Konsens, so Benda.

Hollemann: „Neues Stammzellengesetz und mögliche Berufung von Prof. Dreier ins Bundesverfassungsgericht stellen Bedrohungen für das ungeborene Leben dar!“

Nach Ansicht des Münchner ödp-Oberbürgermeisterkandidaten Markus Hollemann ist der noch vorhandene Rest von Rechtsschutz für das ungeborene Leben derzeit in zweifacher Weise gefährdet: „Zum einen droht eine weitere Aufweichung des Embryonenschutzes durch das neue Stammzellengesetz; zum anderen kann es sein, dass der Würzburger Jurist Prof. Horst Dreier als Richter und künftiger Präsident des Bundesverfassungsgerichts nach Karlsruhe berufen werden könnte. Dreier tritt seit langem dafür ein, dem ungeborenen Menschen die Menschenwürde abzusprechen und steht damit klar gegen die bisherige Rechtsprechungstradition. Seine Berufung wäre ein gewaltiger Schlag gegen den Embryonenschutz.“

Hollemann wendet sich deshalb an die Bundestagsabgeordneten des Münchner Nordens Johannes Singhammer und Axel Berg mit der Aufforderung, bei der Stammzellenentscheidung im März den Antrag des CDU-Abgeordneten Hüppe zu unterstützen: „Dieser Antrag plädiert konsequent für die ethische Position, dass menschliches Leben nicht verwertet und zum bloßen Material abgewertet werden darf.“ Außerdem fordert Hollemann die bayerischen SPD-Abgeordneten auf, Prof. Dreier als Kandidaten für das Bundesverfassungsgericht zurückzuziehen: „Dieser Jurist ist nicht nur beim Thema Lebensschutz problematisch; er baut auch rechtsphilosophische Brücken für die Möglichkeit der Folter.“ Warum die SPD ausgerechnet diesen Professor zum Verfassungsrichter machen möchte, sei schleierhaft.

In CDU und CSU geht die Angst um, mit ihrer neoliberalen Politik immer mehr Wählerstimmen und letztlich den Status einer Volkspartei zu verlieren. Vor dem Hintergrund des Einzugs der Linken in die Länderparlamente in Hessen und Niedersachsen und der kräftigen Gewinne der SPD in Hessen unter Andrea Ypsilanti merken auch die Strategen der CDU, dass die Bevölkerung in weiten Teilen nicht damit einverstanden ist, wenn die Reichen immer reicher und die Mittelschicht und die Armen immer ärmer werden. So hat ein Kommentator der Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung vor wenigen Tagen - entgegen der sonst in dieser Zeitung vehement vorgetragenen Empfehlung - festgestellt, dass Wahlen für die Union nicht mehr zu gewinnen sein werden, wenn die Löhne der Mittelschicht real nicht anstiegen, während die Wirtschaft brummt. Nun hat CSU-Vize Horst Seehofer innerparteiliche Vertreter einer neoliberalen Linie in der Union angegriffen und deren Forderungen als nicht mehrheitsfähig abgelehnt. Die "neoliberalen Radikalreformer" seien die "eigentlichen Reformverhinderer", sagte der Bundesagrarminister der "Süddeutschen Zeitung".

The Associated Press reports: "an advocacy group on Monday sought a criminal probe of the White House over millions of possibly missing e-mails, saying someone may have deliberately deleted them to conceal involvement in a potential crime. In a letter to Attorney General Michael Mukasey, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington said the White House also may have violated two federal record-keeping laws, including the Federal Records Act, which carries criminal sanctions for unlawful destruction."

Zu Überlegungen der SPD, die steuerlichen Freibeträge für Kinder zu kürzen, erklärt das Mitglied des Parteivorstandes Rosemarie Hein:

In den Genuss steuerlicher Absetzung kommt nur, wer genug Einkommen hat und deshalb auch entsprechend hohe Steuern zahlt. Damit werden Kinder aus einkommensschwachen Elternhäusern benachteiligt. Deshalb ist es richtig, darüber nachzudenken, wie die Lebensverhältnisse von Kindern nachhaltig verbessert werden können. Immerhin leben heute bundesweit mehr als 2,5 Millionen Kinder in Armut. Das für sie verfügbare Einkommen liegt zwischen 207 und 276 € im Monat. Angesichts der prekären Lebensverhältnisse vieler Kinder in diesem Land ist es richtig, dass auch die SPD darüber nachdenkt, wie allen Kindern wenigstens ein kostenloses Mittagessen ermöglicht werden kann. Dies damit zu begründen, dass Eltern angesichts steigender Zahl von Kita-plätzen weniger Aufwand hätten, ist aufgrund der realen Betreuungssituation, insbesondere beim Angebot von Ganztagsplätzen, schlichtweg falsch. Wer solche Aussagen trifft, ist weit weg vom wirklichen Leben weg. DIE LINKE hat ein Konzept für eine bedarfsorientierte und individuelle Kindergrundsicherung entwickelt. Darin sollen alle bisherigen Sozialleistungen zusammengefasst und in eine Kindergrundsicherung umgewandelt werden. Neben einem einheitlichen Kindergeld von 250 €, das selbstverständlich beim Einkommen von Bedarfsgemeinschaften nicht anzurechnen ist, soll jedes Kind eine einkommensabhängige Grundsicherung erhalten. Danach sollen allen Kindern mindestens 420 € monatlich zur Verfügung stehen. Um Kinderarmut zu beseitigen, ist gleichzeitig erforderlich, den Niedriglohnsektor abzubauen und einen gesetzlichen Mindestlohn einzuführen, damit Eltern in der Lage sind, mit ihrem Arbeitseinkommen auch angemessen für ihre Kinder zu sorgen. Es ist höchste Zeit, für ein grundsätzliches Umsteuern. Die soziale Absicherung von Kindern ist für DIE LINKE ein Thema ersten Ranges.

Re Prof. David Coggon -

Described in Dr Chris Busby's 'Wolves of Water' book - p.281 on the Medical Research Council's three man committee on the health efffects of depleted uranium -

" The other two members of this coven are Dudley Goodhead and Prof. David Coggon of the MRC epidemiology unit at Southampton. Coggon is famous for having written in the BMJ in 1994 that 'there was no epidemic of cancer'. When I accosted him with this howler recently he was clearly embarrassed but tried to maintain that this was still the case.

Coggon took over from Martin Gardner, the epidemiologist who confirmed the Sellafield leukaemia cluster and found it was associated with the parents who worked for the nuclear site. Gardner died suddenly of cancer age 50.

Coggon shut down the research. He is now a favourite of the establishment for Chairing committees on ill-health and pollution, e.g. the Advisory Committee on Pesticides (ACP) and the Depleted Uranium Committee of the Ministry of Defence (DUOB). Goodhead and Coggon got OBEs. I hope it makes them happy.

They will crop up again in this book, my point is to show that there do not need to be so many operators to keep the system going, just a few people in the right places. Nor am I saying they are anything but perfect gentlemen who believe what it is they say. It is merely that when someone talks about the science of radiation risk, what is there in practice is actually the beliefs and activities of rather a few individuals".

The Royal Commission on Pesticides recently took evidence and established health damage to people affected by crop spraying. Coggon's Committee (ACP) quickly pressured government to disregard this, so that it could be business as usual for agrichems and intensive farming.

Also I (Roger Coghill) add that Coggon was selected by Surrey University against my wishes to examine my PhD. The other (internal) examiner was an IEE member who wrote out a failure note BEFORE I took the viva! Fortunately I discovered it because I arrived early, and 12 copies of his failure note fell out of the printed theses as I picked them up.

So I refused to be examined by these two henchmen of the establishment. (Normally a University's internal examiner is supposed to read the draft thesis and raise any points which might fail the applicant, so that these can be addressed before the thesis is printed, in other words he should be helpful to the applicant. In this case Surrey gets a large amount of funding from the nearby National Grid, for whom my thesis was extremely inconvenient). There is no doubt the University plotted to ambush my thesis. The matter remains unresolved, with the University Visitor. You can publish all this if you wish.

Als SGB II / SGB XII geschaffen wurden, haben sich die beteiligten Politiker darauf "geeinigt", Hilfebedürftigen nur noch Leistungen in Höhe der bisherigen Sozialhilfe (BSHG) incl. der Einmal-Leistungen zu gewähren und Erhöhungen nur noch in Höhe der Renten-Steigerungen zu gewähren. Daraus ergab sich eine Leistungshöhe für Regelsatz / Regelleistung in Höhe von EUR 345.

Eine derartige Festlegung ist jedoch willkürlich und daher verfassungswidrig. Denn: Das hohe Gut des Artikel 1 Grundgesetz fordert vom Gesetzgeber, dass er die existenzsichernde Regelleistung nicht willkürlich festsetzt, sondern ein plausibles und nachvollziehbares Verfahren wählt, dessen Ergebnis dem Maßstab des Artikel 1 Grundgesetz standhält (Bundesverwaltungsgericht, Urteil vom 25. Nov. 1993 – 5 C 8.90). Somit gab es das "Problem", ein "plausibles und nachvollziehbares Verfahren" zu finden, mit dessen Hilfe ein Regelsatz "errechnet" werden kann.
