Bilderberg: The Open Conspiracy

Now that the agenda for global government is public, the Bilderberg Group's importance rests on grooming politicians

Paul Joseph Watson

Friday, May 28, 2010

Now that the agenda for global government and a centralized world economic system is public and out in the open, the importance of the Bilderberg Group’s annual conference rests on grooming political candidates. The lion’s share of Bilderberg’s 2010 agenda has already been announced by its members weeks before – it will revolve around a potential military strike on Iran as well as the future collapse of the euro.

Bilderberg 2010: Globalists Panic Over Euro Collapse

Elite to seek reassurances from Spanish leaders that ultimate agenda for global currency will not be derailed

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com
Wednesday, June 2, 2010

The presence of Spain’s heavyweight political and financial leaders at this year’s Bilderberg conference is not just because the secretive annual confab is taking place just outside Barcelona – it’s because the Bilderberg elitists are panic stricken at the possibility that their embryonic global currency – the euro – could be heading for total collapse.

Vietnam MIAs: Ghosts Return to Haunt McCain

Alexander Cockburn, Truthout: "The ghosts that haunt Sen. John McCain are about 600 in number and right now, they are mustering for a final onslaught. McCain, one of America's foremost Republicans and President Barack Obama's opponent in 2008, is currently locked in a desperate bid for political survival in his home state of Arizona."

Why Isn't BP Under Criminal Investigation?

Jason Leopold, Truthout: "Why hasn't the government launched a criminal investigation into BP? That's the question several former Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officials have been asking in the aftermath of the catastrophic explosion aboard the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig last month that killed 11 employees and ruptured a newly drilled well 5,000 feet below the surface that has spewed tens of millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico."

Deepwater Horizon: This Is What the End of the Oil Age Looks Like

By Richard Heinberg

The cheap, easy petroleum is gone; from now on, we will pay steadily more and more for what we put in our gas tanks-more not just in dollars, but in lives and health, in a failed foreign policy that spawns foreign wars and military occupations.

Mr. President, defend America

Huffington Post
by Dylan Ratigan

05/26/10

The only thing more blatant than the fraud and corruption that is killing our country is our current leaders’ unwillingness to stop it. Now, as we are faced with the unspeakable damage from both the Gulf oil spill and the financial crisis, our leaders still insist that the best people to deal with the aftermath are the very people who caused it in the first place. … This kind of bizarre ignorance of incentives is now displayed by our current president, who often appears to think that government works best when it is subservient to corporations under even the most dubious circumstances. So far, it seems like the only entrenched power that our president is interested in fighting was the Democratic Party machine that wanted him to wait his turn back in the primaries...

Preventing the Civil War

Ideas
by David Friedman

05/25/10

Imagine that someone in our future is equipped with a device capable of delivering packages to the past. He makes a list of thirty or forty of the most influential people in the U.S. as of (say) the 1850’s, prepares for each a package of history books, and delivers the package to the recipient’s desk a week or two before some prominent natural event, such as an earthquake or eruption, is due to occur. Each package includes a dozen identical color photographs and a cover letter. The letter predicts in detail the event about to occur and explains that the package is being sent in the hope of preventing a very bloody war. The photographs could not have been produced with mid-19th century technology; the hope is that they plus the prediction will be enough to persuade at least some of the recipients that the package really is from the future. What happens?

Fouling the Gulf and much more

Reason
by Steve Chapman

05/27/10

Every crisis is an opportunity for someone. The giant oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is one for both Democrats and Republicans, who are shaping the same facts to fit very different narratives. Democrats see it as an example of the dangers of petroleum addiction and unchecked capitalism. Republicans think it shows the administration is proving both its excessively cozy relationship with Big Oil and its chronic ineptitude. But they may both miss the larger vein of popular sentiment that this mammoth catastrophe taps. It’s one of a series of horrifying, infuriating, and preventable debacles that has served to spread disillusionment and disgust with important institutions...

Afghanistan: The case for negotiations

In These Times
by Gilles Dorronsoro

05/24/10

The coalition’s strategy in Afghanistan is at an impasse. The renewed efforts undertaken since the summer of 2009 have failed to temper the guerrilla war. A few tactical successes are possible, but this war cannot be won. The coalition cannot defeat the Taliban as long as Pakistan continues to offer them sanctuary. And increasing resources to wage the war is not an option. The costs of continuing the war — to use Ambassador Karl Eikenberry’s expression in the leaked telegram to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton — are ‘astronomical’...

War in Afghanistan set to outlast Vietnam

USA Today

05/31/10

Three months after 9/11, every major Taliban city in Afghanistan had fallen — first Mazar-i-Sharif, then Kabul, finally Kandahar. Osama bin Laden and Mullah Omar were on the run. It looked as if the war was over, and the Americans and their Afghan allies had won. Butch Ivie, then a school administrator in Winfield, Ala., remembers: ‘We thought we’d soon have it tied up in a neat little bag.’ But bin Laden and Omar eluded capture. The Taliban regrouped. Today, Kandahar again is up for grabs. And Afghanistan soon will pass Vietnam as America’s longest war...

Obama's commission is supposed to carry out a six-month investigation into the reasons underlying the explosion of the Deepwater Horizons offshore drilling rig.
