A mobile phone mast could be erected near a Northumberland school following a blunder by the county council.

The authority refused consent for the mast, just yards from Darras Hall First School, but failed to notify Telefonica O2 within the required 56 days.

As a result the 41ft (12.5m) mast could now be installed by default.

The council said there was an oversight in the interpretation of regulations, and that discussions were ongoing to try to agree an alternative site.

Schön, dass es nun auch dem DGB am Beispiel der Ein-Euro-Jobs aufgefallen ist, welche katastrophalen Auswirkungen die Hartz-Gesetzgebung hat. Dabei ist schon seit langem bekannt, dass viele Ein-Euro-Jobs keineswegs mehr zusätzlich und im öffentlichen Interesse sind, sondern reguläre Beschäftigung verdrängen. Ein Großteil der Ein-Euro-Jobber führt die gleichen Tätigkeiten aus, wie festangestellten Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter – allerdings eben zu mieser Bezahlung. Das Instrument, welches einst Langzeitarbeitslosen eine vermeintliche Perspektive auf dem Arbeitsmarkt eröffnen sollte, wird mittlerweile breit eingesetzt, zum einen aus purer Hilflosigkeit der Arbeitsvermittler und nicht zuletzt auch, um auch die Arbeitslosenstatistiken zu schönen. Wir als LINKE fordern die Bundesregierung nochmals nachdrücklich dazu auf, nicht zu versuchen, einige Teile der Hartz-Gesetzgebung zu verschlimmbessern, sondern das ganze Paket gehört komplett in die Tonne. Stattdessen muss ein öffentlich geförderter Beschäftigungssektor eingerichtet werden, wo sozialversicherungspflichtige, rechtlich abgesicherte und freiwillige Beschäftigungsverhältnisse zu existenzsichernden Löhnen für gesellschaftlich notwendige Arbeit geschaffen werden. Das kostet kaum mehr als Ein-Euro-Jobs, wenn die Mittel für das Arbeitslosengeld II, für die Unterkunftskosten sowie für die Ein-Euro-Jobs selbst dazu genutzt werden – bietet aber den Betroffenen endlich eine wirkliche Perspektive.
