csmonitor.com — The U.S. government's extraordinary effort to rescue the banking system may have pulled America's economy back from the brink, but it comes at a cost — helping to push an already bloated deficit up to an estimated $1 trillion for this fiscal year. That would be a record in today's dollars — and would represent the highest level of federal red ink as a share of the overall economy of any US budget since the 1940s. As a result, future presidents may have to rein in spending and raise taxes to pay down that debt. If they don't, foreign lenders at some point could scale back their purchases of U.S. debt, sending interest rates soaring.

Es beinhaltet ein bundesweites Adressverzeichnis mit Rechtsanwälten, Beratungsstellen, Erwerbslosen- und Sozialhilfeinitiativen und als ganz neues Angebot: Institutionen und Personen die Ämterbegleitung anbieten. Behördenbegleitung wird immer notwendiger damit die Betroffenen vom Amt nicht eingeschüchtert werden. Hier ist es notwendig diese zu institutionalisieren. Also das diese flächendeckend von Beratungsstellen, Wohlfahrts- und Sozialverbänden, Sozialengagierten, Initiativen angeboten wird. Dahingehend wollen wir mit dem Adressverzeichnis eine Grundlage schaffen. Behördenbegleitung kann angeboten werden, Betroffene die diese Benötigen können im Adressverzeichnis anfragen. BENGEWORTH residents have stepped up their campaign against the installation of a phone mast in St Peter’s Church and created a website for people to object.

Concerns have been raised that not enough people know about the proposal for four Vodafone antennas placed behind window panels on the church tower.

Up until now it had only been advertised in the church but now the Chancellor of the Diocesan Registrar’s office has said a public notice must be put in a local newspaper.

Once published people will have two weeks to object to the plans.

Worried residents already aware of the move to install a G3 transmitter in the clock tower are doing all they can to stop it going ahead.

CONTROVERSIAL plans to install an 18-metre mobile phone mast have suffered another set-back, after local councillors agreed to support residents’ objections.

Telecommunications company Vodafone may also now need full planning permission for the mast, which it wants to build on farmland, close to houses, in Sandy Bank, Northallerton.

The site of the proposed mast is close to the ward boundaries of Romanby parish and Northallerton town councils.

At a meeting of the parish council last night, members voted to write to Hambleton District Council, the local planning authority, expressing support for objectors.

It is claimed that more than 100 homes would be within view of the mast, which would be 15 metres tall, with a three metre antenna stalk on top of that.

RESIDENTS in Ynyshir who stopped a mobile phone company building a phone mast near their homes have now got another fight on their hands.

Three years after fighting off two attempts to put a mast behind Glass Sheet Metal site, Park View residents have now had letters from Rhondda Cynon Taff council to say that Vodafone is trying to put another mast next to the Service Centre on Ynyshir Road.

All this progress wasn’t effected by Joe Six-packs, but by brainiacs in every field who moved the intellectual goal posts further and further. And yet, the political discourse of recent years indicates that voters of different stripes seem to prefer in their leaders common-man cred over book knowledge, thought and analysis. It doesn’t make sense to someone like me. I have more than a dozen members of my immediate and extended family in the United States. My relatives aren’t here for freedom or democracy (we have that at home), but to pursue higher learning, go the furthest in their respective fields and realize the American dream in the process...

"Dieses Gesetz wurde im Hinterzimmer in einer Runde von Banklobbyisten ausgeklüngelt. Und jetzt verlangt die Bundesregierung vom Parlament einen Blankoscheck über Kapitalhilfen in Höhe von 100 Milliarden Euro – ohne jegliche demokratische Kontrolle, welche Banken das Geld zu welchen Bedingungen erhalten und wer die Kosten trägt. Das Parlament soll seine Macht an Finanzminister Peer Steinbrück abtreten und ihn zum König des Banksystems krönen", kritisierte Stephan Schilling vom bundesweiten Attac-Koordinierungskreis.
