Am 13. März gab es für einige Anlass zur Freude. So freute sich zum Beispiel Agenda-2010-Erfinder Gerhard Schröder (SPD): "Es zeigt sich immer mehr: Sie war gut und richtig." Mehr noch freuten sich die Arbeitgeber. Ihr Präsident Dieter Hundt lobte am gleichen Tag in der Rheinischen Post online: „Zu den Gewinnern gehörten vor allem Langzeitarbeitslose, Geringqualifizierte sowie ältere Arbeitnehmer". Und Klaus Zimmermann vom Institut der Deutschen Wirtschaft (DIW) sprach in der FAZ von einer „insgesamt sehr positiven Bilanz". Von allen Seiten wird zu dem Thema gelogen, dass sich die Balken biegen. Das merkte sogar die Zeitschrift focus und sprach am gleichen Tag von einer „Packung mit Sprengstoff". Es liegen nämlich die ernüchternde Zahlen vor, an denen niemand mehr vorbei kann. Doch weil die Wirklichkeit gar nicht so gut klingt, wie Kanzlerin Angela Merkel es gern hätte, wird der neue Armuts- und Reichtumsbericht der Bundesregierung der Öffentlichkeit vorenthalten. Jetzt stehen nämlich alle da im kurzen Hemd!

CANCER researchers have warned parents to limit their children's use of mobile phones, following a new study into the effects of the devices on health.

The international team who carried out the study this week said "the electromagnetic fields emitted by mobile phones should be considered a health risk".

Dr David Servan-Schreiber, who led the team, claimed: "What we found was astounding and much more concerning that what we had been led to believe."

People using CIA and FBI computers have edited entries in the online encyclopedia Wikipedia on topics including the Iraq war and Guantanamo prison, according to a new tracing program. The changes violate Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines. The tracing program, WikiScanner, was developed by Cal Tech graduate, Virgil Griffith, who traced numerous violations to FBI and CIA computers. According to spokesperson Sandy Ordonez of the Wikimedia Foundation, Wikipedia's neutrality guidelines prohibit persons with close ties to an issue from contributing to or editing that entry.
