How Republicans Quietly Hijacked the Justice Department to Swing Elections

Steven Rosenfeld, in an excerpt from his new book "Loser Take All," states: "The GOP may have committed massive vote fraud in plain sight by encouraging widespread voter purges and restricting registration campaigns ... Since the 2004 election, activist lawyers with ties to the Republican Party and its presidential campaigns, Republican legislators, and even the Supreme Court - in a largely unnoticed ruling in 2006 - have been aggressively regulating most aspects of the voting process."

Foreclosures Jump 57 Percent in Last 12 Months

Lynn Adler reports for Reuters: "Home foreclosure filings surged 57 percent in the 12 month-period ended in March and bank repossessions soared 129 percent from a year ago, as homeowners struggled to make mortgage payments, real estate data firm RealtyTrac said on Tuesday. For the month of March, foreclosure filings, default notices, auction sale notices and bank repossessions rose 5 percent, led by Nevada, California and Florida, RealtyTrac said."

The End of the World as You Know It

Michael T. Klare writing for TomDispatch.com observes: "Oil at $110 a barrel. Gasoline at $3.35 (or more) per gallon. Diesel fuel at $4 per gallon. Independent truckers forced off the road. Home heating oil rising to unconscionable price levels. Jet fuel so expensive that three low-cost airlines stopped flying in the past few weeks. This is just a taste of the latest energy news, signaling a profound change in how all of us, in this country and around the world, are going to live..."

Blood Levels of Mercury Are Related to Diagnosis of Autism: A Reanalysis of an Important Data Set

Mercury: a common cause of chronic conditions
http://www.flcv.com/leakyghg.html

Informant: Dorothee Krien

--------

Blood Levels of Mercury Are Related to Diagnosis of Autism

Dear Dorothee: Thank you for this email and the other two I received this morning. These are important studies and as you know, the issue re thimerosol is finally gaining more attention.

The same is true for virtually any medication or even supplements. Vitamins A, B, C, E and ohers are reported as becoming toxic -- intolerances are occuring even with relatively small doses.

One prescription medication after another is causing serious adverse effects -- doesn't seem to matter whether the drug is for depression, bi-polar, etc., arthritis, cholesterol-lowering or even an antibiotic. I just dealt with serious changes in Bud re pneumonia when he developed hallucinations after he began taking Doxycycline. Magnetic field readings averaged 6.5 mg in his bedroom -- I do not know electric field measurement. He has no appliances, telephone equipment, waterpipes or improper wiring close to the head of his bed although the gas meter's electric field may still be too close to his bed. I use the gaussmeter as "an investigative tool" only. No electric or telephone equipment should be closer to one's bed than a minimum of 3 ft., regardless of the magnetic field measurement in or on one's bed..

These are all reasons why the sort of studies Olle and his colleagues are willing to conduct if and when funding comes their way, are so vital.

As with most of today's studies, almost no "focused attention" is directed toward evaluating electric and telephone bed exposures. The infant/toddler who develops autism may have a monitor in or under their crib. The child may be sleeping close to an electric meter or gas meter or other chronic, prolonged EMF/EMR source. The child may have an "EMF friendly bedroom" but may spend most of the night in bed with his or her parents.

As with the overall EMF issue, studies and claims re the amount of thimerosol in vaccines continue to be ambiguous and/or largely inconclusive in conjunction with proving causality.

We know that EMF/EMR appears to exacerbate the function of metals in humans and animals in a uniquely harmful way. In our family, my guinea pig studies, as well as some of my research, that applies whether natural, injected or consumed.

You may recall that the veterinarian/pathologist at the University of Minnesota was looking for some sort of metal overload in my guinea pig, Kelley -- the one who developed Reactive Renal Amyloidosis (considered to be "rare") after about 2-1/2 years living in our basement where milligauss readings ranged between 3.5 mg and 4.5 mg on average. There is a sewer pipe in the floor right under the desk that held the cage. I do not know the corresponding electric field reading.

None of what I write means we should be any less concerned about the mercury itself, it is just that I believe the numbers of autism-spectrum disorders would be significantly higher if the thimeosol is the only culprit. I commend you and ohers for your efforts to bring attention to the dangers of mercury but believe we must also emphasize the urgent need to study the probable exacerbated effects of thimerosol injection in animals under exposures simulating chronic, close nighttime exposures versus animals and/or cells not similarly exposed.

I hope you are enjoying spring -- best wishes and take care - Joanne

REAL ID proves federal government is not the all powerful Oz

The Price of Liberty

With the threat of their citizens not being able to board an airplane or enter a federal building, New Hampshire, Maine, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Washington, and Montana have enacted laws that basically tell the federal government to pound sand because we will never comply with the Real ID requirement. Other States are also contemplating noncompliance. For those Americans who still have the ability to think and reason, this legislation and the defiance by the States should trigger some questions...

On Generals testifying before Congress

Fred On Everything
by Fred Reed

04/14/08

Whenever I see that some dismal general will testify to Congress regarding the war against Iraq, I imagine the first paragraph of his Power Point presentation:“All metrics show a downsurge in the violence in Iraq, and a continuing improvement in indicators of the production of a better life. Next slide. The Iranians are aiding the enemies of America, and must be bombed. This is a recording.”

What solemn, fraudulent, emetic mummery. Congressmen will—do—ask the General puffball questions, after which they will do whatever the President tells them to do. I can make no criticism of this. It is the American way. Still, may I suggest a few questions I would like to see the General, any general, asked?

Did the fed cause the housing bubble?

Ludwig von Mises Institute

One of the few positive developments from the housing bubble is that many mainstream economists have recognized the pernicious role played by the Federal Reserve. Indeed, some analysts on CNBC have discussed the outright abolition of the Fed. The case against the Fed is straightforward: In an attempt to jumpstart the economy out of recession, Greenspan slashed the federal funds target from 6.5% in January 2001 down to a ridiculous 1% by June 2003...

Only A Miracle Can Save America Now

by Pastor Chuck Baldwin

America is currently facing the most serious threat to its national independence and sovereignty since the War of 1812. The forces of globalism have declared an all-out war against our country's independence. Illegal immigration, the NAFTA superhighway, the North American Community, a regional currency called the Amero, and "free trade" deals are just a few of the weapons in their arsenal. And John McCain will use every bit of his power as President to facilitate all of this chicanery. And, because McCain is a Republican, conservatives and Christians will sit back and let it happen without even the slightest whimper of resistance. If Obama or Clinton were sitting in the Oval Office, however, massive numbers of conservatives and Christians would rise in protest over every inch of ground ceded to these nefarious nabobs. So, tell me, who is the greater evil? I say it is John McCain.......

http://www.ngo-online.de/ganze_nachricht.php?H=N&Nr=17727

Safe From War, but Barely Surviving

Writing for The Boston Globe, Anna Badkhen states: "Across the country, hundreds of Iraqi and Afghan interpreters who aided the US war effort and then fled their homelands fearing for their lives are struggling with little help from the government, according to private groups assisting translators from the war zones. After granting them refuge, the United States has done little to assist in the transition to a foreign culture where the translators have few connections, few prospects for employment, and little access to healthcare."

US Lenders Freeze Home Equity Credit Lines

Gretchen Morgenson reports for the International Herald Tribune, "It was the lending institutions and mortgage originators that got the United States into this credit mess, but it is the American consumers, taxpayers and those companies' shareholders who will end up shouldering most of the costs. The latest example of this is in the mass freezing of home equity lines of credit going on across the United States. Reeling from losses on their wretched loan decisions of recent years, lenders are preventing borrowers with pristine credit and significant equity in their homes from tapping into credit lines that they paid dearly to secure."

PNAC presence within US government and control over US policy has been a great success

William Rivers Pitt writes for Truthout, "It has been more than ten years now since [Project for a New American Century] first introduced itself by way of its letter to Clinton. Over this decade, PNAC's ideology and foreign policy mandates became the center of gravity for America's military and diplomatic practices and priorities.... McCain’s outreach tour

Slate
by John Dickerson

04/09/08

How many points do you get for just showing up? John McCain will get an idea at the end of the month when he travels to venues where Republicans don’t usually campaign. McCain is planning to speak in inner cities, heavily African-American sections of the South, and poor sections of Appalachia. Most of his stops will be in areas where voters have traditionally supported Democrats. Can McCain win over many new voters in these areas? Probably not. … That’s OK, though, because the McCain tour is not aimed at winning a host of black votes. Nor is it primarily about the next obvious play: showing independents that he cares about minorities and the underprivileged, a traditional bank shot candidates take in order to make themselves appealing to moderate voters. The tour, which will include lots of freewheeling town halls, is more like performance art, an attempt to show off authenticity and the unfiltered McCain...

What does it mean to call McCain a “war hero” candidate?

Christian Science Monitor

04/14/08

In his first national campaign ad for president, John McCain is shown reciting his rank and serial number as he lies in a Vietnamese hospital bed as a prisoner of war. The ad describes him as ‘a real hero.’ … But inextricably tied to the idea of the war hero for president is a discussion that goes beyond individual soldiers or prisoners of war, such as McCain, to the wars they fight and what their role in the war says about their moral merits as national leaders. This turns out to be surprisingly problematic. We need to distinguish the war hero from the war. Fixed ideas about war heroes get into what we call ‘morality wars,’ crucial struggles about which values should prevail, who should be admired and for what qualities...

If you live in a rural community, there may be a volunteer fire department, which keeps your insurance affordable. The Power Elite Playbook: Beating the Oil War Drums

Oil greed generates war! International banksters, in London and New York, had quickly recognized that control of petroleum was essential to power and profit. After Britain's Rothschild-orchestrated depression of 1873 (coincided with the U.S. stock market crash of September 18, 1873), a growing divergence existed "between the depressed economy of the British Empire and the emerging industrial economies of Continental Europe," especially the very proficient German Reich. Crashes, depressions, recessions, deflations or inflations (elastic dollars) are all contrived cash manipulations that allow the banksters to subtly seize public and private resources at fire-sale prices.........
