Zu den jüngsten Vorschlägen von Arbeitsministerin Ursula von der Leyen und Ifo-Präsidenten Hans-Werner Sinn sowie den veröffentlichten Missbrauchsquoten bei Hartz IV erklärt Katja Kipping, stellvertretende Vorsitzende der Partei DIE LINKE:

Umbenennung von Hartz IV, regional unterschiedliche Hartz IV-Regelsätze und Debatten um Missbrauchsquoten - das ist das letzte und abstruse Aufgebot für eine Politik, die mit dem Namen Hartz IV verbunden ist. Hartz IV bedeutet Armut, Ausgrenzung und Diskriminierung von Leistungsbezieherinnen und das Schüren von Abstiegsängsten bei den Erwerbstätigen, um sie gefügig für mieseste Arbeitsbedingungen zu machen. Während einige Großverdiener Zeter und Mordio gegen den Erwerb der sogenannte Steuersünder-CD schreien, welche eventuell ihre betrügerischen Finanzgebaren offen legen könnte, wird kräftig Stimmung gegen jene Menschen gemacht, die den Behörden ungehinderten Einblick in ihre Einkommens- und Vermögensverhältnisse gewähren müssen, um überhaupt anspruchsberechtigt auf Hartz-IV-Leistungen zu sein. Wer für eine grundrechtskonforme Sozialpolitik steht, kann Hartz IV getrost zu Grabe tragen. Stattdessen fordert DIE LINKE eine sanktionsfreie, bedarfsdeckende und individuell garantierte Mindestsicherung und einen gesetzlichen Mindestlohn in Höhe von 10 Euro. Hartz IV muss weg - ohne Wenn und Aber!

Aus dem Text: „Die Zahl der eingeleiteten Straf- und Bußgeldverfahren gegen Hartz-IV-Empfänger ist im vergangenen Jahr um 1,8 Prozent auf knapp
165.000 Fälle gestiegen. Dies geht aus der Jahresbilanz der Bundesagentur für Arbeit (BA) über den Leistungsmissbrauch im Hartz-IV-System hervor, die der Süddeutschen Zeitung vorliegt. Dabei geht es meist um falsche Angaben von Langzeitarbeitslosen gegenüber den Jobcentern und Arbeitsgemeinschaften (Argen) mit dem Ziel, höhere Leistungen zu kassieren, als ihnen eigentlich zustehen. (…) Insgesamt hatten 2009 im Jahresdurchschnitt etwa 6,5 Millionen Menschen nach dem Sozialgesetzbuch II Anspruch auf die Grundsicherung (Hartz IV). President Obama has presented Congress with a spending request of $3.8 trillion for the next fiscal year in 2011, but with a third of it not paid for with taxes, thus resulting in a $1.3 trillion deficit (a whopping 8.3 percent of GDP). The small piece of good news is that this deficit is smaller as a portion of the nation’s economic output than this year’s gargantuan 10.6 percent for FY 2010 (that $1.6 trillion deficit is a post-World War II record). Budget deficits of this magnitude have occurred before, but only during cataclysmic wars — the Civil War and World Wars I and II. Contrary to the rhetoric of congressional Republicans, who are stridently criticizing Obama for his excessive spending, these budget deficits are largely the result of George W. Bush’s new entitlement program (Medicare prescription drug coverage), the usual Republican fake tax cuts (tax cuts without concomitant reductions in government spending), bank and insurance bailouts, and the conduct of two disastrous U.S. occupations of foreign countries. Sicherheitskonferenz wird Welt unsicherer machen

„Die Bundesregierung unterstützt diesen privaten Kriegsratschlag alljährlich mit fast einer Million Euro Steuergeldern und hunderten Bundeswehrangehörigen, die als Gratis-Leiharbeiter eingesetzt werden. DIE LINKE fordert ein unverzügliches Ende der staatlichen Subventionierung“, so das Mitglied im Parteivorstand der LINKEN, Jan Korte, zur morgen beginnenden 46. Münchner Sicherheitskonferenz (SiKo). Die diesjährige Konferenz durchbricht in einigen Punkten ihre jährlich wiederkehrende Routine: Der große Aufmarsch an Staats- und Regierungschefs wird ausbleiben, China wird erstmals mit von der Partie sein und das Wachpersonal wird diesmal nicht von der Bundeswehr kommen. Ansonsten? Same procedure as every year! Obwohl sich Allianz-Aufsichtsrat Wolfgang Ischinger, der die SiKo seit letztem Jahr leitet, alle Mühe gibt die Konferenz moderater und zivilisierter erscheinen zu lassen und sich dadurch von seinem Vorgänger Teltschik durchaus unterscheidet, so hat sich deshalb noch nichts am grundlegenden Charakter der Veranstaltung geändert. Die Münchner Sicherheitskonferenz bleibt ein Treffen, das von Rüstungsindustrie und Kriegspolitikern dominiert wird und auf dem die führenden Militärmächte dieser Welt ihre Interventionskriege besprechen und sich dafür gegenseitig Legitimationen verschaffen. Neu ist vielleicht, dass Ischinger gezielt versucht immer mehr Vertreter aus den Vorstandsetagen ganz unterschiedlicher Kapitalbranchen zu rekrutieren. Im Kontext der globalen Krise des Kapitalismus nimmt auch die globale Konkurrenz um knapper werdende Ressourcen und Absatzmärkte spürbar zu. Unter dem Label „Sicherheitspolitik“ wird in München die Militarisierung der Weltpolitik vorangetrieben. Diesmal in besonderer Einigkeit mit denjenigen Kapital-Kreisen, für die die weltweite Sicherung von Energiezufuhr, Märkten und Rohstofflieferungen zentral ist.

As President Obama prepares to unveil his $3.8 trillion budget for fiscal year 2011, which begins Oct. 1, the White House is projecting the current fiscal year will end with a $1.6 trillion deficit, congressional sources confirmed to Fox News. Next year’s budget will have a nearly $1.3 trillion debt, according to those sources, dropping to just over half that — $700 billion in fiscal year 2013 — before jumping back up to $1 trillion in 2020, the furthest out that budgeters will predict. A $1.6 trillion deficit would represent more than 10 percent of the gross domestic product, but the White House says over the next 10 years, the average deficit will represent only 4.5 percent of GDP annually...

That Terrorism fear-mongering has long been a central GOP political tactic is beyond dispute, but its current efficacy is far from clear. Just consider a new Washington Post poll released today. After months of GOP and media pummeling of Obama for being generally ’soft on terror’ and specifically for the crime of using the rule of law against (some) accused Terrorists, Americans (a) approve of Obama’s ‘handling of the threat of terrorism’ by a margin of 56-39 (his highest rating by far on any single issue); (b) approve of Obama’s terrorism polices more so over the past couple of months (since the Christmas Day bomber incident) than they did previously; and (c) trust Obama more than the GOP to handle ‘the threat of terrorism’ by a margin of 47-42 (though that gap has closed modestly in recent months)...
