Mindestlohn besserer Arbeitsanreiz als verschärfte Hartz-Anrechnungsregeln

Der stellvertretende Vorsitzende der Linken, Klaus Ernst, wirft Arbeitgeberpräsident Dieter Hundt nach dessen Vorstoß für schärfere Anrechnungsregeln bei Hartz IV "sorgfältig kultivierte Ignoranz" vor. Er fordert stattdessen die Einführung eines gesetzlichen Mindestlohns und ein Bündel von Sofortmaßnahmen, um die Lage der Arbeitslosen zu verbessern. Er erklärt:

Die Arbeitgeber wollen die Krise dazu nutzen, um die Arbeitslosen weiter zu quälen. Mitten in der Krise geht es doch darum, Arbeitsplätze zu retten und zu schaffen. Der beste Anreiz zum Arbeiten ist ein ausreichendes Angebot an Vollzeitjobs zu ordentlichen Löhnen. Die sorgfältig kultivierte Ignoranz eines Herrn Hundt hilft nicht weiter. Hartz IV ist und bleibt eine Armuts- und ´maschine. Herumgemurkse nach alten Rezepten bringt nichts. Die sofortige Einführung eines gesetzlichen Mindestlohns würde die Zahl der Aufstockerinnen und Aufstocker drastisch reduzieren. Wenn niemand weniger als zehn Euro pro Stunde verdienen würde, könnte man von einem Vollzeitjob auch leben. Außerdem brauchen wir ein Bündel von Sofortmaßnahmen, um die Lage der Arbeitslosen schnell zu verbessern. Das Arbeitslosengeld I muss in der Krise für alle auf 24 Monate verlängert werden. Dann stürzen weniger Menschen in Hartz IV. Die Regelsätze müssen deutlich nach oben, für alle Betroffenen. Die Regeln für zumutbare Arbeit müssen viel strenger sein. Es kann nicht sein, dass Arbeitslose gezwungen werden, Jobs anzunehmen, die weit unter ihrer Qualifikation liegen und von denen sie nicht leben können.

American employers eliminated 4.2 million jobs in 2009 and sent unemployment soaring into double digits for the first time in more than a quarter century. Since the fall of last year, the official jobless rate has been over ten percent, while the unofficial rate (taking in the severely underemployed and those who have given up looking) has been over 17 percent. And, despite the ridiculous ‘green-shoots’ speculation of the Obama administration and overblown ‘recovery’ fantasies of the financial media that has blown every major economic story of recent years, the situation is getting worse. Analysts had predicted that December layoffs would number around 8,000. Instead, the figure was more than ten times higher: 85,000. Unemployment held steady at 10 percent — not because the job market is stabilizing, but because tens of thousands of Americans gave up looking for work and are no longer counted among the unemployed...
