What You Can DO: Health Care Industry Gets SiCKO Fever

WE NEED TO SUPPORT SiCKO MORE THAN THE INDUSTRY IS TRYING TO STOP IT

As SiCKO begins its second weekend of general release, today Michael Moore released a leaked Memo from Capital BlueCross detailing their confidential counter-strategy to the release of the activist policy change movie, SiCKO, and their efforts to try to minimize its impact, from which we quote as follows:

"Ignoring its impact might be a successful strategy only if it flops . ."

Except it's not going to flop. And do you know why? Because we are going to turn out in record numbers to see this film, and see it again with our friends and neighbors. We're going to organize groups and movie going parties to sell out every theater showing it in the country. Here is the ticket finding link:

SiCKO TICKETS: http://www.sickotix.com

And to demonstrate just how serious Michael Moore is about making real policy change happen, he is now prominently featuring DIRECT constituent action pages on his own site, to empower those mobilized by this revolutionary activist film to speak out for H.R. 676, the Conyers/Kucinich health care reform bill.

ACTION PAGE: http://www.michaelmoore.com/sicko/what-can-i-do/petitions/pnum649.php

This action page ALREADY has over 10,000 submissions, and with your engagement we can push that number into the hundreds of thousands, perhaps even millions. So go see the movie. Submit the action page. And please forward the link above to everyone you know so that they can do the same.

TELL DENNIS KUCINICH HOW PROUD YOU ARE OF HIS LEADERSHIP ON THIS

All through the dark years of the Cheney administration, who has been more courageous that Dennis Kucinich, an original sponsor of H.R.
676, in speaking for what needs to be done to actually fix our broken health care system? Won't you make a contribution to encourage Dennis to continue stand strong on this issue and so many others?

KUCINICH DONATIONS: http://www.usalone.com/donations_kucinich.php

Please take action NOW, so we can win all victories that are supposed to be ours, and forward this message to everyone else you know.

The U.S. Constitution is the greatest perception of Liberty ever conceived

Strike The Root

By Sheila Samples

The U.S. Constitution is the greatest perception of Liberty ever conceived. It was hammered out by men determined to prevent imperial presidencies, shadow governments and seizures of power by any one branch. It was conceived precisely to thwart efforts to destroy the republic by those whose only allegiance is to power and money. We must rid ourselves of the traitors in our midst, starting with Dick Cheney.

Why is Childhood Arthritis on the Rise?

by Dr. Sherri Tenpenny, DO

As stated by Dr. Feldman, “The whole idea that 80% of children [with arthritis] will have permanent remission is just wrong. Most of our patients will have arthritis well into adulthood.” Those with post-vaccination arthritis are more likely to require substantial drugs to control the progression of their disease, one that has no cure. While not every child has vaccine-induced arthritis, there is a strong possibility that many children can attribute their condition to the hepatitis b or rubella vaccine. Those children have become customers of the pharmaceutical industry for life as a result of vaccination.......

More than four years - and at least several hundred thousand Iraqi civilian deaths - later, the most reliable epidemiology available confirms that those claims were more than misleading. God (and progressives) save this honorable court!

In These Times
by Hans Johnson

07/05/07

On their tours of monumental Washington, summertime visitors often stand in awe of the Supreme Court. The gleaming white building, with its oath of ‘equal justice under law’ proclaimed above its grand west entrance, suggests solidity itself. Yet far from living up to that promise, the current Roberts Court has begun to tilt the scales against ordinary Americans while undermining the basic notion of fair play. In steadily reversing hard-won progress on privacy, freedom of speech, church-state separation and civil rights, a radical four-man bloc is reminding people of the precariousness of standards we had long taken for granted and the primacy of court appointments in the 2008 election. Time and again in its term just concluded, the Roberts Court has thumbed its nose at the principle of an even playing field in American life and the value of individual liberty...

The invincible president

The American Prospect
by Ezra Klein

07/05/07

‘President Bush’s decision to commute the sentence of I. Lewis Libby Jr. was the act of a liberated man,’ wrote the New York Times. ‘A leader who knows that, with 18 months left in the Oval Office and only a dwindling band of conservatives still behind him, he might as well do what he wants.’ If the Buddha and Machiavelli had a child, this would be the type of liberation he’d speak about: Liberation from the suffering imposed by democratic checks and balances. It is a liberation George W. Bush has pursued with a single-minded vigor. From the beginning, he has consciously sought to govern from division, realizing early on that popularity can actually constrain an administration, and consensus is just another word for compromise...

6. Juli 2007

Dietmar Bartsch

Justice denied

The Nation
by Aziz Huq

08/28/07

The resignation of Alberto Gonzales has brought a smile to the faces of many Bush Administration critics, but will it bring real change? Unless the Senate Judiciary Committee seizes its chance in a new Attorney General’s confirmation hearings, the danger is that Gonzales’s exit won’t just leave Justice tarnished–it will also mean justice denied.
