Vodafone’s new mast move in Carlanstown

John Feeney CARLANSTOWN residents will be closely monitoring a fresh planning application from Vodafone Ireland Ltd lodged in the past week to site a 24m mobile phone antenna at Balreask Road, Carlanstown, on the Kells side of Maudlin Bridge.
Locals have campaigned strongly against the same firm’s attempt to seek retention of a mobile phone mast in the village which, they claimed, was far too close both to the primary school and new housing estates.
